The vinyl bubble embellishments on the petals came out so beautifully and the finished dress and accessories were perfect. That bead army overview was also intimidating - good on you for pushing through (and enduring a finger infection as a result of the battle).

absolutely gorgeous! as to the skirt, there's no way to make it much lighter- it just needs a corset underneath to support and distribute the weight! that's really the only way to comfortably wear skirts this massive. the movie dress has the corset structure built in, but a separate garment would work just as well

I know that for the stage show Wicked, they built the skirt off of the hips. As in, there is A LOT of boning from the waist, as the skirt is around 50 lbs. I remember watching a behind-the-scenes video of the Broadway show on here, and it was fascinating.

This popped up in my feed because I've been going mad for everything Wicked lately and I am SO glad it did! My mum was a seamstress many years ago (she made ALL of my clothes until I got into Jordache jeans 😂), but i never took up the craft as I now wish I would have. Seeing you make this dress awakened something in me and I'm breaking out my sewing machine (once I find it under years of storage boxes😊) as soon as I finish writing this. You are so down-to-earth and funny and beautiful... you make me happy just watching you, especially seeing the results!!
