YOU CAN'T imagine how long I have wanted to make this soap but I just could not figure out how to line it up in the mold. Because you used the neon colors in a pot swirl caused you not to lose your color when mixed with the black...GENIUS...I've seen it done but nothing like yours...SWEETIE your are the best and this one is outstanding...I am bowing at the computer because this one was thought out well...

In the last few videos you've done, you have had your lye water solution in a Nutures Garden container, do you purchase it that way or is that just the contauner you use to make the solution in? Sorry if this is a question you can't answer for the sake of your business, in just curious
@OpheliasSoapery6 жыл бұрын
Rebekah Cox I have so many empty ones I’ll make my lye solution then let it cool and pour it in the white lye containers so I’ll have them ready for batches since I soap at room temp it’s perfect :)
@soapsforlove41686 жыл бұрын
Do you make a larger batch to get the same size bars when you use the water discount or is it the same amount? I hope that makes sense? Someone else commented about the soap in a stick fear, I've had that too. The soap turned out REALLY lovely, the silver sparkle added to the charcoal was a great idea. Thank you for sharing.

I love your soaps! This one is really bautiful! How do you calculate a 38% lye solution? I soap with 20% water (int comparison to oils) and cut my soaps after 8-12 Hours - I guess you masterbatch your lye; is it 38% lye and 62% water then? Thanks for the Information and Sharing your videos! Diane

Diane Kitzberger Thank you! In soap calc it has a section for you to enter in what lye concentration you want to use. soapcalc.net/calc/soapcalcwp.asp

Soap is very pretty. Wow cut in 5/6 hours, I'm always waiting 24 hours. I'm afraid to do a big water discount in fear I'll get soap on a stick. lol But I just may try, test my recipe see what happens.
@OpheliasSoapery6 жыл бұрын
Joy Baze I tried so many water discounts until I found the one I like the best. Definitely test in smaller batches lol. I soap around 75 degrees and that definitely helps. My main reason for wanting to do the discounts so steep is so my bars won’t shrink as much lol. I was loosing like 1/4” off the bars before 😳
@HollstoHealth6 жыл бұрын
I'm still trying to learn water discounting and have recently gone to a 2:1 water:lye ratio to avoid soda ash. For a steeper discount, like your 38%, do you calculate that off of the oil totals?
@OpheliasSoapery6 жыл бұрын
holly powell holly powell 2:1 used to be my go to! I just put it in, in soapcalc and it did the work for me. It didn’t do anything to the oils it just changed the water amount.
