Excellent bow, I love the craftsmanship. The aluminium arrows look too heavy the bamboo one appear to fly better. My old archery teacher taught me the arrows are more important than the bow but it is a bit of trial and error to match arrows to a bow. Keep up the good work 👍👍

It can be done with only hand tools, you need time and patience^^

@@woodenren yep you could build a bamboo bow with a sharpened peice of scrap metal much easier with experience mind u, i used to make self bows as a kid out of local willow ext just with my swiss army knife, they were nothing to write home about lol probably 10 pound range, but they where still fun to make and shoot around and so long as arrows(bull rush reeds) wernt to angular at point the wouldnt actually stick into u while playing if you got hit just deciding to get back into it at almost 40 :P probably a mid life crisis or something lol, so ive been soaking up these channels, all i can say is make as many as you can they will get better with practice, youll never build a master work till youve created a lot of failures in everything but with bows even a crappy 10 pound willow self bow is fun to make and play with and getting tiller ext right gets easier each time(until you change it up to new materials then u get to relearn, which is what im doing atm lol)

In this attempt, I use bamboo was used to make a bow arm with high toughness and elasticity. The difficulty of recurve bows is slightly greater than that of ordinary single bows and laminated bows. The mastery of the thickness of the bamboo and the production process is very demanding, and it is easy to fail during production. But very challenging and very interesting^^

曲度好像不到反曲 比較像秦漢時代的長稍設計

看完後有大約兩點可以討論: (1)影片約11:34處無上弦狀態弓體反曲方向向弓腹(Belly)部分彎曲其實不利弓體能量累積磅數也會上不去。可嘗試相同厚度的竹片向弓背向反曲，但也要注意弓臂的應變量會比這一把弓的應變量大，容易超過材料極限。 (2)13:08處因為(1)敘述中，這把弓反曲方向的關係，拉滿弓狀態弦線和弓梢夾角過大超過90度，在此狀態的幾何下，那其實這把弓大部分的磅數來自弓臂的軸力而非弓臂的彎矩，故能量累積其實不多箭速不會提升，此狀態下應該也會感覺到拉力突然變重，不不是那麼線性(drawing weight stacks )。

Beautiful bow! I have 2 questions: 1) Is carbonised bamboo harder/stronger? 2) What type of bamboo did you use? Would there be any difference if different subspecies of bamboo wood is used?

1. Carbonized bamboo has stronger hardness and better corrosion resistance 2. I use Moso bamboo. Each type of bamboo has different characteristics. It is recommended to use bamboo that grows slowly at high altitudes, which will have sufficient hardness.

Felicitaciones maestro. Independiente de cumplir o no standard de potencia y velocidad, Es un arco hermoso y hecho con arte. Un arco de colección. Tal vez podría agregarse algún material que le de mayor consistencia y asi equiparar con la flexibilidad que tiene el bambú. O bien podría incorporarse una capa de tendón o bien unas 8 capas de Fiberglass Tape. Yo recién me estoy iniciando en la construcción de arcos y tengo mucho que aprender sobre todo de la madera disponible en mi país a usar. He construido dos arcos flatbow y los dos se han roto antes de terminar. Mis saludos y muchas gracias
