I used to be a chef at a vegan/raw restaurant! That was back when raw food was popular. I remember loving everything we made: nut meats, raw "tuna", raw cheesecake, raw lasagna. Mmm. I still make that stuff at home. I was never on a raw diet, I always mix it with cooked food. I eat it cause it's delicious, not cause it's healthy.

There are plenty of raw foodists that have been eating raw vegan for decades and are healthier then the average plant based vegan. I my self love raw and have made lots of walnut dishes. It is very delicious. Let’s not forget that once one decides to change a habit till it becomes a new habit one must go through change. The tastebuds reprogram after a while to where everything taste so much more intense then before. Raw is high vibration high dense nutritional way of eating. That said switching to anything over night comes with more challenges than easing into change. Aloha

Looks great! The best recipe for raw vegan 'meat' I have found so far is Laura Miller’s (Queen!) from her Raw Vegan Not Gross Burrito video. It’s AMAZING and very flexible. Also dries out a lot less as she adds soaked sun-dried tomatoes and little of the soaking liquid. I often add a little extra and keep the mixture wetter if I’m going to cook it (I have adapted it into a vegan haggis substitute).

Hello love your video, its excellent! Question please, the Walnuts you soaked, were they fully dry? If yes, how did you make them fully dry, without them being cooked, compared to putting them in a food dehydrator? I soaked my Walnuts overnight. Speaking of them, you are right, Walnuts can be like a natural anti depressant. Although I can tell you from personal experience, about a really good natural anti depressant. In my opinion, it can be used instead of the unnatural SSRIs, for mental health issues, it is Raw Cacao

@@rachelx963 Untoasted pine *might* work? Sesame has too much of a distinct flavor. I would honestly just stick to just walnuts, unless you are in the mood to experiment. Joe from the future here. Doesn’t “dry” mean either too low in water (moisture) _or_ too low in fat? I guess you meant both because you recommended both soaking the walnuts in water _and_ adding more oil. I’m happy to experiment but tbh sometimes the result isn’t great.
