I see so many people on KZbin who are not canning correctly! Thank you for following current canning guidelines! My daughter loves pomegranates, I'm going to make this for her! I think though I will use the pomegranate juice method just because of frugality!! lol

Bakr Haltam if you are smart you would drop the stupid sugar and replace it with a sweetener.

Hi Katie, I like to open my pomegranates under water. It works really well. You still cut the top and section it, but there’s no staining mess. TFS!!

Hello. I’m new to pomegranate jelly (not jelly in general, just pomegranate). At any rate, do you add lemon juice? Thank you.

I have about 30-50 pomegranates on my bush in the back yard. They still have a month or so to go but I love this video! Can you tell me the brand of juicer you are using?
@butteryum7 жыл бұрын
I shared that video on my social media a year or two ago - absolutely the best method I've found to date. I took photos to post on my blog, but never got around to it - I think you've inspired me to go find them. Anyway, I couldn't decide how many sections there were inside a pom - some seemed to have more than others. then I read somewhere that they have 4-6 sections. So glad you used low-sugar pectin. I've had a box sitting in my pantry and I didn't know what I was going to do with it. Now I know.

oops, forgot to share this link for Meyer Lemon and Vanilla Bean Jelly. It's soooooo good. www.butteryum.org/blog/2013/02/meyer-lemon-and-vanilla-bean-jelly.html
@KatieCooksandCrafts7 жыл бұрын
yeah, what I read was 6 sections but that one clearly only had 4. Just follow the membranes. This was my first try with low sugar pectin, it was just as easy and set up perfectly.

Filtering these are a pain. They have INCREDIBLY fine pulp. I used coffee filters and I ended up having to use several each batch because the super fine pulp clogs the filters quickly. You can get crystal clear jelly but it takes time.
@estherjurado73516 жыл бұрын
How do I use them? What do I do?
@Orafaun6 жыл бұрын
Esther Jurado I just put them in a wire strainer and let gravity filter them but this year I think I am going to set up a vacuum filter apparatus.

I came up with a more precise way to open the pomegrade, without cutting it, you take the pomegrade and with a wooden spoon, start tapping the whole pomegrade, until you see that all the skin is very soft, but first you take a deep bowl, because it starts to come out only the juice. After it is already bruised, with a knife make a small circle above where you see the root, remove that little part carefully, and pour the juice into the container, then cut each hull vertically near the bottom of the pomegragrade, you begin to open it without removing the skin, you will see that all the seeds come out by themselves, and if there are a few seeds left, carefully tap it, remove the little bit of the white part, do not add water, pour it all in the blender, and then drain it, and you will have the pomegranate juice with zero water.
