I've used the 4k textures whenever I can, when character's are fairly close to the camera for example and always liked the results. I run into problems when having multiple characters with all those textures in the blend file at the same time, along with everything else in the scene. Can run into texture memory limitations on my system. BTW, have you tried the cctools addon data link feature yet?

One thing that will make them even better is when the devs of humanify release their version for CC4 characters.
