Just got an Atomstack5 A40 for my birthday , so have been on a Louisianahobby guy marathon! Your videos are amazing! I'm a crafter and have been watching you tube videos for years, and I must tell you that you really know how to use your camera and teach and share info like very few others! Thank you for taking all the time you do to make the videos, and put the forum together etc. Its like we are right there with you! I am learning so much! Thank you! I have not felt inclined very often to do the pattern or donate to coffee fund, but I am definitely going to for my new favorite instructor!

Love this video Rich. Thanks for the info. It all depends on the wood. I ordered some 3mm from Amazon before I even received my laser (D1) and it takes one pass at 100 100. With the air assistance it cuts great. I also have 5mm 5 passes to cut through and .250in 7 passrs to cut through same power and speed. I'm excited to try your method!
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy

This is the wood x-Tool sent me with the laser. I ran a test on the P50 & the Neje and they both cut it at 120 speed & 100 power. I don't know why this D1 is not cutting it. I'm going to do a ramp test today. I have a feeling the diode was set wrong at the factory.

Rich, instead of using your sander and want something a little more stable for small letters or for your coins (which is an awesome idea) I took a piece of scrap wood and placed sanding disks with the sticky back that I use for my belt sander and placed them on the wood. I found this to be the easiest way to get those smaller letters and small keychain police badges sanded to perfection. I can send you a picture of them that I made as a his and hers set, so my wife and I can tackle 50 individual pieces. I think you will like it. Great video and we all make mistakes no matter how proficient we think we may be.

This was a great video and definitely took it to another level for me. I did do some experimenting and found you can do your black layer with crosshatch on and go to the edit tab, and click invert and it does the same thing but in less time. I did several pieces trying it and could not see a difference. It is just a bit easier for beginners and less steps to remember. I also did the fill and line on that same layer. Greetings guru of all of laser (yes that was spoken out of respect kind sir)., Thank you very much for all that you do for us less talented people out here. I just made one of the desk top decoration, and I will post it on your website. There are couple of flaws on it, (too big of a base for one), but I am pretty pleased with the outcome. I could not have done it without you!

I just tried this method. WOW, I would compare this method to a Co2 level quality burn. I did the same design on a friends Glowforge and my Sculptfun (using this method) and the results were almost identical. Thanks Rich!

Thank you Mary! I do the coins 50 at a time on a sheet of wood taped down to the bed. Then I pluck them out with my X-acto knife and flip them over and drop them into the same holes to do the text on the back side.

I have a longmill router that is pretty much just set up. I have only runned a test project on it to see if it functions as it should. I am going to add a diode laser unit on it in about an hour and want to start a project right after. I need this to realy pop out for I need to impress the misses after all that time and all that money went into it. Finding your channel will up my chances to win her over to my side of seeing how this investment is nòt a bottomless pit. Thanks for helping me out. I will watch a bleepload of your videos after I setup my machine and finaly show her some results.

Thanks for this video. I'm going to use this from now on. I, like you, have the 10w xTool D1. I also found that it took too many passes. What's odd is that many others could cut in 1 pass when it took 3 for me. I think there must be some quality issues. It kinda felt like I got a 5w instead of a 10w. Here's the thing: I got the 20 watt 2 weeks ago and all bets are off. I can cut 3mm plywood in one pass at 750 mm/m. It's simply amazing and a game changer.
