Making constellation keyrings - this mould is adorable!

In this video I finally got around to using my constellation mould that my brother bought me for Christmas (I think! It could have been a birthday present in January...)
As it's so small I also added some celestial themed addition from an amazing mixed pack I bought from Amazon for £10.
Materials Used (everything came from Amazon:
Funxim two part epoxy resin
Translucent blue resin dye
Metallic blue mica powder
Silver acrylic paint pen
Alcohol wipes
Key chains
Triangular and round shaped jump rings
Celestial themed charms - I used these: www.amazon.co....
A calico tortoiseshell cat and black cat are optional....;-)

They came out great Mary, I love the deep shade of blue with the mica effect. They will be good for making gifts, the starsign will make it feel personalised. Mono is so pretty. So happy to see Slinky looking fine and well, and loved hearing their purrs too 🐱🐾

Thanks Peter. I thought you would enjoy the cat parts! Somebody pointed out that this mould is the same diameter as a trolley token. Filled up they're too thick but if I only half fill them I think they'd work. I need to experiment!

Could you have coloured the embossing before pouring the resin? Might have been easier. They're very pretty. Glad Slinky is still doing well. ❤

Thanks so much. The embossed detail is so small that I honestly think I'd struggle to add colour just to those parts before adding resin. The stars and lines I could probably do but the writing is so close together and the spaces in the letters are so tiny that I would never be able to clean off those areas. I made some white ones with leftover polyurethane resin tonight and I'm going to try adding black paint with a really small paint brush to see if that works better. The other option is colour shifting mica that has a really strong colour shift because that would make everything stand out without any additional steps needed. I will try that next :)

I have this mold...and i attempted to make them a while back...the embossing is really fiddly...but after seeing how you did it. I think I'll have another go😊...thanks for your inspiration...from an ex pat brit in the usa😊

It's a very fiddly mould isn't it? I do love it though :) I had somebody say that they used a paint marker on the embossed details before pouring the resin, but I don't have a pen small enough to get into all of those details. I've tried chameleon powder in the mould to see how things showed up then, but it still needs something to highlight the features.

I’ve found that if I colour the details with a paint marker/pigment etc. before I pour the resin it’s much easier. Just make sure it’s dry before pouring and you’ll be good 😊

Mona was engrossed in your work and also your arm, I think she turned you into a human salt lick! Thank you so much for the kind comments Apple. I don't have the space or budget for all of the expensive stuff so I just do what I can with what I have around. I already spend far too much on resin and have boxes full of pieces waiting to be photographed and listed on my shop, but there's never enough time in the week! Mono definitely likes to groom us both, like we're one of the feline pack. She is very very sweet (and very spoilt!)

I love the imagery and design aspects of anything to do with stars so if something has stars or moons on it, I need it! I think these make lovely pendants or keyrings and somebody pointed out that they're the same diameter as trolley tokens. So many options!
