Their going to, LoL. I've already fished the prototypes during summer. Was some of the hottest jigs I've fished, even on finicky fish. I'll end up sharing more on these new jigs as I paint, tie, and fish them. I was having to clip the lead collar off back in summer to make them though. I had acquired some already made in an estate sale. Didn't at first think the minnow head would make any difference. Now I think they may. I'll share more on my theory on that if they continue to perform better. May do some comparison videos as well. Really the only thing new on these that's experimental for me is the hooks and a few new colors for testing

Thanks for showing. Thinking about getting molds and making my own jig heads. Any other info would be appreciated. Looking to make 16s/32s for crappie fishing with minnow heads.

Very rewarding making your own and using them to fill the livewell. I can tell you for sure I fish 1/16 oz 70% of the time, 1/8 oz 20% of the time, and 1/4 oz 10% of the time. I fish the biggest jig they will hit, and that's with scope Smallest I fish is 1/32 oz. That's mainly in summer when they just really finicky on bluebird days. If they won't hit a 1/16 oz head, 99% of the time you just using wrong color in my opinion. Probably some things I should add to our videos this year. How many times we change baits before hitting the right color. Take caution with lead of course, no water close to it, safety glasses, and outside in a ventilated place. Long as I see the comments, I'll answer any questions if you run into any issues. Thanks for watching and good luck!!

You ever tried a bismuth alloy for your jig heads or do you always use lead?
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 Жыл бұрын
I have not tried that. I have used tire weights. What I've figured out is tire weights work fine for bigger jig heads, or to me the ones with bigger pouring openings. Seams like the tire weights melting point is higher or something, causing it to harden quicker. If it's smaller jig mold I seam to get a lot of imperfections. Anything 1/16 and smaller I use pure lead. Thanks for watching, hopefully your a new subscriber and follow us by setting the Bell to ALL. I'm planning on increasing production on Jig making videos soon

@@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 new subscriber yes. I grew up in Texarkana, we were in the Shreveport media market so I feel like I’m ALMOST from Louisiana . I’ve been tying flies for about a year and a half, I’ve been thinking about trying some jigs to throw with my light action or ultralight action spinning rods !

@@attorneydad you gotta check out our crappie videos. Some are using a jig pole, but 90% of the crappie we catch are on our ultralights. I talk about our setup in some of the videos. We cast 1/32, all the way up to 1/8 oz jig to crappie. My favorite way. We mostly cast 1/16th. It's a killer method on spooky crappie. Y'all got some good lakes around y'all!!
