Kia I am a new soap maker and was wondering If you could give some advice on the size of soap mold and soaps I should carry. would love to hear back from you. Thanks...hope to see you this year (2019) with lovely soaps as always. :)
@petalsbathboutique
@petalsbathboutique 5 жыл бұрын
Welcome! You should make the size and shape that feels right for you. Don't spend a whole lot of money on molds while you're trying things out. Also, I started with melt & pour bases then switched to both cold and hot processes so that I could control the ingredients better. Play around with different recipes and formulations. It's really important to learn what properties the different oils bring to the soap. You and your family/friends/customers will decide which is the best. Hope that helps!!

You soap looks fabulous!!! Many shaving soaps look boring but work well. How to I combine the two elements to make a nice looking but productive shaving soap?
@petalsbathboutique

You can use natural colorants such as clays to create swirls in your soaps while keeping the all natural element to your soaps.

I'll try to post more videos in the future that are actual tutorials. Most of my videos are really just me sharing my technique than actually teaching how to make soap. Many of my customers enjoy watching the process as well. Soap Queen TV and Soaping 101 here on KZbin are excellent for beginner soapers. They give you the basics as well as some fun extras.

How are you making the little soap stars? The molds are so small and the soap base cools so fast it is hard to use a dropper to get it into the little molds.
@petalsbathboutique
@petalsbathboutique Жыл бұрын
I use a mini silicone stare mold (Wholesale Supplies Plus) and melt & pour soap. It stays fluid long enough to pour into the molds but if you prefer to use CP soap, just stick blend to a light trace and you should have plenty of time to pour. You may need to insulate the molds or let them soap set up for a day or two before unmolding.

Where did you get the splitter use must use to cut your soaps into logs before cutting them into bars? I'm on the hunt for a log splitter 😊... Thank you so very much for taking the time to create this video and to share your artistry... you make creating BEAUTIFUL soaps look so easy.... but the thing is, not everyone is as blessed with an eye for color! ♥️,k
