Tiggy, that's silicone rash that texture on your soap, usually only happens when a batch heats up quite a bit. Activated charcoal can cause a bit of heat so that'd be it. It's only a cosmetic issue really, doesn't effect the soap otherwise.

Thank you for this. This soap does heat up, always. I shall do some tests to see how much the ones that don't do this heat up. You've hit the nail on the head, I reckon.

Nice and simple!❤ I think your charcoal is sucking up moisture. Try to mix it with water before adding 😎
@futureprimitivesoap2 ай бұрын
Hmm, maybe, but this happens with a few different soaps. Not just one with charcoal. I've never had to mix with water in all these years. It's a bit of a mystery, but I do think it's the batter thickness. It needs to be thicker when I put it into the mould.

Glad to have you back 😊 Do you have ylang-ylang in your fragrance? That might explain your outside “skin”
@futureprimitivesoap2 ай бұрын
No. And, I've never had that happen with ylang ylang in soap.
@shraddhagreensoulz75292 ай бұрын
Then it might be charcoal. It is very hygroscopic.
@futureprimitivesoap2 ай бұрын
@@shraddhagreensoulz7529 maybe...but this happens with other soaps that don't have charcoal in them.

I get that leathery look if my batter gets too hot. I make a goat milk soap with 70% patchouli and 30% lemongrass and it’s marvelous. Great job on getting it done quickly! Must smell awesome! 👏 👏👏🖤

I soaped at a super low temp. I think it's the batter thickness. When its thicker, I dont get it...

Your hair looks fabulous! I need your haircut, we've got a similar hair type so I wonder if that might suit me. My hair is too long at the moment and driving me nuts. x

My hair is like string. It's so thin! I cut a fringe into it, regretted it, and this is it growing out. I like it when it's all one length but I bet bored!

I LOVE LOVE true crime I get right amongst it haha. I’m currently watching Australia’s most dangerous prisoners. Not sure if it’s available in the uk or not but it’s brilliant!! Maybe look it up on KZbin? All the Australian true crime is great also :)

My charcoal soaps do the same. No clue why.
@futureprimitivesoap2 ай бұрын
Look through the comments. It appears to be a heat issue and charcoal combined...

I love watching crime shows too, if they're done well (& respectfully to the victims, I hate sensationilist crap that sounds like it was all narrated by the same deep voiced middle aged American guy lol, I think that's probably Ai ugh). My favourite crime guy on the "tubes" is Mike from That Chapter, he's just so bloody endearing but he also tells a great story. Irish guy. I also love Nigel & Luke from The Crime Zone. As for movies I can highly recommend watching Lee, the story of Lee Miller, just amazing really. Anyway great to see ya on here again, as always Tiggy, ok I'm out.
