Man thanks for making these. I've been switching from FL to trying to go all FOSS music, and Cardinal and Ardour are objectively some of the best things I've found thus far. Glad you've made some videos on not just one but both. Will definitely watch this whole thing later

Superb tutorial, I have just downloaded it and there is zero tutorials about apart from your good self that is, It looks excellent but very tricky to get started for most, thanks for helping out, any more tutorial s in the future for this brilliant system will be great. Cheers dude.

same here I really want to learn modular synth but hardware is insanely expansive and I can't get it and there is stuff about cardinal but NO TUTORIALS

ADSR was one of several innovations that Robert Moog came up with in the early days of electronic synthesizers in the 1960's - so not quite 100 years, more like 60.

I've been using Plateu for some time as a "plugin". Loaded a carla rack with VCV as a jack app (back before cardinal and VCV2) and only loaded the reverb. It really is fantastic. Was real "hacky" though haha.

Yeah, now you can just have a Cardinal preset that'll do the same thing :)

I don't get it, you say from scratch at 39:51 "here we have our empty canvas..." yet you show a rack with 4 modules (named Cardinal). Where do these 4 come from?

These are the default modules that Cardinal comes with as an initial preset.

Hey! just wanted to help you out with polyphonic. Right click on the host audio, and scroll down to polyphony channels, and select 1-16. You can only select mods that are polyphonic or else it will be monophonic. Hope this helps!

@@_DRMR_ It's a shorthand for ZynAddSubFX. For a couple decades it was the most powerful open-source software syntehsizer. I've been using it for many years and release a couple full-length albums with just it. But in the past 3-4 years new synths started appearing - Vital[ium], Surge and now Cardinal that match or surpass it in possibilities in my opinion.
