Ahma understands entirely. Her culture is different to your culture.

@eleanorbanwell3478 but he literally said that she doesn't fully understand?
@cameronschyuder90342 ай бұрын
@@eleanorbanwell3478they are Chinese. Chinese culture is very conservative/traditional. China itself is pretty backwards when it comes to queer rights legally, so yeah it’s not her culture to be this open and accepting of non-gender conforming presentations. Even though Chinese society is known to focus a lot on community, a lot of times that means less importance given to individuality and individual expression.

Peking opera usually used men for female roles
@eleanorbanwell3478Ай бұрын
To clarify: I think this makes it even more special that she supports unconditionally. She understands. It’s not her culture. It’s not a problem for her. I’m trying to say she supports him fully aware that she’s going against the grain.l and will very likely be judged for it by her peers ❤

my great aunt once asked my grandma if she was “disgusted” by gay people; my grandma was genuinely confused, like, “why should i care?” elderly allies tend not to really GET it but still accept it. such a great example for the rest of us. people are more accepting overall nowadays and i’m not in jail for dressing like a man which i appreciate so im not romanticizing the past here, but the art of accepting and loving even what you don’t understand is somewhat lost. we want to understand now which is ok but sometimes you just can’t understand and they doesn’t make someone else’s experiences wrong (as long as they/their opinions aren’t hurting anyone. i like to think my great aunts “experience” of thinking people like me are disgusting was wrong lol.) my grandma made her little gay grandkid happy that day just by not caring, accepting, and when i came out by loving me the same as she ever had. she passed away this summer. she was such a blessing to me. i’m so glad this gorgeous queen has her grandma too ❤😊 may they have many more long healthy and happy years together.

As a gay boy who loves his grandma very much, this touched my heart. My grandma is 84 years old so I also cherish the moments I get to spend with her as well. She has always unconditionally loved me as I was and supported me even when my parents didn't. "We were destined to be grandmother and grandson in this life" ❤.

It's so beautiful that at 93 she can walk unassisted and has no mental decline. That is so rare. I thought she was much younger. The costumes are insane. She was always his biggest fan. Such a heartwarming story

My grandparents do not fit that stereotypical image you mentioned & I am sure there's a Lichert scale from 1 to 5 for other's grandparents and where they fall in that image. However, in my fantasy, all 4 of my grandparents were like this.

Back in the day, I was what we called a Tom-boy. I was athletic and was in many sports. My Grandma was an awesome seamstress! She made my prom gown, from the design, to making the pattern, to sewing it. It was beautiful, and I was so proud to wear it. There were teachers who wanted her to make dresses & gowns for their wives or girlfriends, but she said she only made things for her family. It was a love, not her job. Being the athlete I was, I never had time to sit down & let her teach me to sew. I still regret it to this day. Not only for missing out on learning even a modicum of her skills; but, mostly because that was time I could have spent with her, my Gram & best friend. Cherish the time with your elders. They have a lot of wisdom & love to pass on.
