great video but i have a question..do people even use the height map? won't we need a pretty high poly mesh for it to work?

For realtime you will likely always be using Normal maps. For Offline you will be using Height much more. I'm not going to using Unreal as a game engine, more of a rendering engine. So i will be pushing it to its limits to give me desired results. I often export Normal and Height together at no cost. When you are working in height in Painter this information is translated to your normal map aswell on export. I hope that clears it up :D
