Jamie's tip below is a good one, and I'd like to add another one. Buy a bottle of Versamark refill ink, and you can squirt some out onto a palette, then use a brush to apply it to the chipboard. You can use different sized brushes to make it easier to add the ink to different areas.

Well, after watching you do the embossing I had to go to Amazon and order the versamark glue pen!! I have the pad although I've never embossed yet, don't even have any embossing powders but, it seems like a good little tool for tiny areas!!! I did look on Gayles favs first, but you don't have it on there! Love how the chipboard pieces came out and LOVE THE FLOWERS and how you arranged them....just made the most GORGEOUS cover ever! Hi Gayle, I still have yet to watch the last videos; just too much right now. I'm in a funk that I can't seem to shake. Too much has been going on, I think. I'm off all next week. We are going to CA for Thanksgiving visiting family. So maybe I'll have time then. I sure hope so, coz these videos really are a highlight of my day. When I don't get to them, well, it just feels like there is something missing. Especially when you are making such gorgeous items! Plus, I really enjoy your conversation and writing a bit back to you. It helps keep me positive. Wow on this folio cover! It is just gorgeous! That Blue Fern kit is wonderful! But it's your vision for it...just fabulous, my friend! Well, time to go to sleep! Hope your Wednesday goes well. God bless. Sue

Sending big comforting, joy filled hugs your way, Sue! I hope you feel better soon! I totally hear what you’re saying. When life gets to busy, I get cranky! It’s funny, I’ve kind of identified my “threshold” of busy-ness and boy when life takes me over that, it’s not great. Lol! The other thing I’m discovering is my threshold is getting lower as I get older. And...even if it’s good stuff, too much packed in is just too much, you know? Anyway, I hope your week off will rejuvenate you. May some “Sue time” can happen. I know it always helps me to have a little alone time. Lots of love, sweet friend! ❤️

I really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for reminding of a very pleasant memory of my introduction to embossing with an old St. John of God monk, Brother Anthony Malone in Dunleer, Ireland. He taught me calligraphy in exchange for me teaching him how to do gold leaf illumination. We spent many hours with our heads together exchanging skills. He also paid me and I ate with the monks on the days we spent together. Both greatly appreciated by a struggling art student in the early 90's. I love the way your chipboards turned out. I'm off to the hobby shop now to get some of those powders. See what you started? 💚💚💚🍀😜B x x

I believe the embossing ink is basically glycerin, so you can always dip your pen nib in that. Anything that stays wet awhile will work. I am embarrassed to say I have been known to lick the edge of a card and dip it in embossing powder, if you’re quick it works.

I used to have all the embossing stuff but gave it away long ago. Someone else commented about stickles on the stocking and I was going to suggest it too. Looking awesome Gayle! xo
@KLThames5 жыл бұрын
Gayle, if you store a dryer sheet in the body of your embossing tray, and give it a swipe before using the tray, it cuts down quite a bit on the static when using it. For pieces like the holly flourish where you are having a rough time with the details, you can emboss the entire piece with a clear embossing powder and go back over with a pen and then add the detail. Just make sure that you give the cooled chipboard a swipe with the dryer sheet so that you don't get overwhelmed with static cling. This helps the Versamarker ink to actually sit on the surface, and not soak into the porous chipboard and dry so fast. Also, if you think that you might have better luck getting detail applied with a brush, just get a small bottle of glycerine from the cake decorating section and put a small drop in a dish, and dip the tip of your brush into it and then paint it on the chipboard.

Hi Gayle, ive been watching you for about 6 months. I go searching each day for your new video even though i have you ticked to watch i rarely get the notification. i am writing to you now with a suggestion about your cover. On the pic of the stocking are 3 jingle bells, why not clear emboss them to continue the shine that you have going on at the bottom. I was also going to say when doing small parts as you heat say the holly berries have a tweezer with a pinch of embossing powder ready and sprinkle it on top of the heated berries before it cools and heat again that way you dont need to use your versa pen as often. I LOVE your channel, never stop creating for us! TFS ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

I love how you’ve embossed your chipboard pieces Gayle!!! Sooo fun!!! I’m wondering if the chipboard was soaking in the embossing pen (as it is porous when it isn’t sealed) and that’s why it seemed to take more work. Perhaps it isn’t because your pen is drying out. 🤞🏻😉 I’m excited see this project develop!!! TFS!!! Hugs, Sharon 🌷💜
