Made a false assumption before even watching this video that this was going to be about rational decision making and objectivity being a superior strategy in all cases, somehow. But it ended up being a reminder to check whether I'm making a false assumption. Great video as always! :)

Nice video. False assumptions are very dangerous, in technical problems and in relationships with other people, it's something I try to work on daily.

As a way of life, like you said , we have to make assumptions. Whether we fact check occasionally or not is another thing. I think the not calling the ISP part makes sense because nowadays queue times on such calls are like half an hour in my experience and you usually do not get something out of the experience. Which creates a bias to steer away from calling providers of services (e.g. calling your GP) One could call it the virtual queue conundrum. Though it derives from the we will not get any help assumption, I think that we are just naturally dismissive of a negative experience which these phone calls usually are. You look amazing in that last shot. PS, the clarification on the updates is lovely

You are right. Especially at the beginning, due to the reasons you mentioned, it probably makes sense to try and solve a problem of such kind on your own. The bias is probably more evident when, after a long struggle, we carry on. Thanks! I committed myself to weekly Thursday 6PM London time uploads - I might communicate that on the channel header as well! :)

Thank you for an interesting video. I work in I.T and so it seems very relevant to what I do in my day to day work. However, this came up as a suggestion not because I was searching for something related to IT but because of the nature of false assumptions. The examples you gave cost you time and perhaps towels and these are small things. However, when someone maks a false assumption about a persons nature, it can be really damaging and I was looking for advice on how to handle it when the assumption has been made against me by someone who didn't fact check with me first, but formewd their own opinion and then spread that as though it were a fact. I guess I will keep searching for answers to that but I subbed to you anyway!

Impressive as always, But oftenly after making an assumption, we get to know that, it was a false assumption. After watching thisa video, I realised that an assumption should be, backed by some research!! Thanks, Growing day by day, physically, mentally and emotionallly. I love your english accent :P. Great advice, my tip is to do not give much worrys to assumptions that cause us pain or are negative for no reason, so being rational and more patient is better.
