Thank you for your comment! I too started by watching video after video of soap making. After a time, I gleaned some important details which I put into practice. I enjoy making a well balanced soap that cleans without stripping the skin. Practice making small one pound batches. Have family and friends use the soap you make. Ask them to let you know how they like it as their payment. When you’re ready take your batches to craft fairs to help pay for the Ingredients. Have fun and continue to learn. 😊

Great to meet you. Lovely soap. In answer to your question, I personally do not think it needs flowers on top. Just my opinion. It was nice to see someone else do hot process. They are beautiful! The color is perfect and bet they smell awesome. Personally, I love the holes in hp soap, nothing says handmade louder! Thank you Debbie! I like the rose petals also, although like most botanicals they eventually turn brown 🥲. Consequently I do not recommend botanicals on or in soap. The color is great but faded considerably, so recommend adding a color to sustain the tint. Thank you again! Blessings 💚

Thank you for your video! I am learning hot process and your step by step helped a lot. My first batch got very dark and I guess it burned...we'll see how it cures. As it pertains to the botanicals you used, I think for a soap like that I would have preferred a clean rustic top, but that's just me. Either way, thanks again for showing us your process. By the way, what are your thoughts about sodium lactate in HP?

Thank you for watching and commenting! I have since found that most all botanicals go brown over time, except calendula . Very disappointed. I love sodium lactate in hot process. I like the soap, but I am not fond of the flowers.

I also have discovered that the botanicals turn brown. So I’m not using them on or in soap. Blessings 💕

@@swansoap Thanks for answer. May i know if it is cooking not even cover to be heated , which range of heat u used ? Thanks

@@classsyp1290 I cook it until almost completely done on low, which is usually around 150-160 degrees F. I use 38% water, so if I loose some steam when I uncover, I'm not concerned about it. I tis easier to stir if full water is used (38% of oils). thanks for asking!

Just a suggestion....your video could’ve been shortened quite a bit. We don’t need to see continuous stirring every time.

You can use plant oils of your choice for the recipe. Lard is used in hot process soap to help keep the batter fluid longer. You can hold some of the water out to add at the end to loosen the batter also. Adding sodium lactate at the end helps too. Thanks for watching! Blessings!
