That sure looks good. It's about 100° right now, I could probably down the whole vat of ice cream! I do the No Churn version, simply because I don't have room for one more kitchen appliance. It's very easy, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 tsp pure vanilla extract 2 cups heavy whipping cream. You just mix the condensed milk with the vanilla extract, in another bowl whip the heavy cream into stiff peaks, mix everything together for perfect vanilla ice cream. You can also add 2 tbl of Bourbon for extra flavor if you want to kick it up a notch. It's delicious vanilla ice cream. It's ready in 6 hrs in your freezer. Those are the basics, and you can add cocoa for chocolate or any other ingredients you want.

I typically will pack everything in ice after the motor stops as a means to firm everything up. Usually takes about 30-min to get a firm consistency requiring a metal scoop.

I love when the two of you do a video together. I’ve been dying for an ice cream maker. I may have to check this one out. My husband LOVES ice cream, must be a “husband” thing. 😂🤣 The look on your face was priceless when you tasted the base.😃 Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam. Looking like “Bam Bam” there from the Flintstones. Talk about retro.😁 Yum, yum, yummy! Thomas sure IS enjoying his ice cream. Ooo my favorite flavors are vanilla, chocolate, chocolate chip, cookies and cream and world class chocolate….but I know the last one is Baskin Robins. Tfs. Looks delicious! Your husband is a man after my own heart... "hope there's some left over to drink." 🤣🤣 Yes! I have a small electric ice cream maker that has the refrigerant built into the canister. That's OK, but all those type of ice cream makers only have about a 1 qt capacity. Many older ice cream recipes make more than that. Then you have to do batches, but the canister has to be refrozen, etc, etc. So while some people may think it's a hassle to fool with the ice and rock salt, that larger capacity ice cream maker is the better way to go. You can always make a smaller batch in a big ice cream maker, but it's a real mess trying to make a larger batch in the little ice cream maker. Great video! Makes me want some ice cream.

I don't know how I missed this yesterday. 🤨 On ice cream day of all times! This ice cream looks amazing Catherine! 😍 I would be right there with Thomas fighting over the churn. I'm shorter so I'm actually closer to the ice cream! 😘 We used to make ice cream this way when I was a kid but it wasn't electric. Yep, hand cranked and guess who they had churn it! 🙄 But I remember those warm summer days and then getting homemade ice cream! 🤩 Sometimes we'd just make vanilla and if we had fresh peaches, we would add them. 🍑 We have some sweet juicy peaches grown here in Texas. 😋🤠 But we made all sorts of flavors, depending on what was in season. But my all-time favorite is vanilla and chocolate. I used to buy a pint of Blue Bell vanilla and a pint of chocolate. And then Blue Bell started making the half and half; half vanilla and half chocolate in one carton. I guess I was an influencer. 😉 But even getting chocolate and vanilla, I would still add other things to them. Caramel or chocolate syrup or my absolute favorite, hot fudge. And sometimes I'll just cut up a banana and top it with chocolate and vanilla ice cream. 🍨 I think I need to go to my freezer now, I have some ice cream there. ☺️ Glad I found this video! Like I needed any encouragement to eat ice cream. 😚 Thanks for sharing another great recipe! 🥰

Have you done the no churn version with sweetened condensed milk? I've been doing that version more lately and it's so nice not having to use a machine. Although I do prefer to let it set for at least a day before eating it; I just think it tastes better rather than eating it as soon as it's frozen.

Kudos on the vid. Hint. Mix all the ingredients with the condensed milk at room temp. It will blend easier. Then put the mix in the canister and the entire canister in the fridge for a few hours or overnight if you can. You don’t need to measure the ice and salt. Big cubes. Little cubes they all work. Be generous with the rock salt. Too little it won’t freeze the ice cream fast. Too much salt doesn’t matter. *i have been making ice cream this way almost 40 years. Hasn’t failed yet.

Cereal milk, I say YES! Hubby is so funny. Yesterday I ordered an ice cream maker to see if I could make some that “I” approved of, so this will be my first recipe. A friend made some with only whole milk, sugar and lots of vanilla, reminded me of snow cream, which I’m not a fan of. I’ll let you know how it turns out. My credentials are I love ice cream, but have never done homemade.
