This is completely awesome! It makes a full gallon of ice cream in case anyone is wondering.

After my electric motor stops, I proceed with manual cranking at higher speed to compensate thickness of mixture. If you leave the canister sitting unmoved it will soften. So I crank periodically until ready to serve.

Pour melting left overs into an ice tray.....store in freezer. Then when ready for one add some of the cubes to a blender until smooth. :)

There are various ways of making ice cream without can I screen machine with the typically involves agitating it in some way every once in awhile. Basically what your ice cream machine is doing is adding some air while the mixture freezes if you just stuck the ice cream base in a freezer and left it alone did you would get a giant popsicle. The cheaper ice creams in the supermarket typically have a lot of are pumped into them all premium ones have less. Premium ice cream van more expensive such as Ben & Jerry's.

Don't need to. Hot air rises, cool air sinks. Your holding in the warmer air,and it's being heated more by the motor as it sits there. . Just let it breathe

I think i will just get an actual ice cream maker wirh a condenser and avoid all the extra craziness with the ice and salt. Ive looked at this one before. I think it was like $39 something. It was relatively cheap but you do get what you pay for. The one im looking at n is around $300. Im not trying to spend money but ifnim going to get an ice cream maker then I WANT an ice cream maker!! Not i ne where i basically have to do it by hand the old fashioned way. Definitely going to tey this recipe

Could you do this with regular milk to make a vanilla frosty.. maybe add some vanilla? 🤔
@TheHollarBBQ5 жыл бұрын
Lisa Fowler problem would be it would not be as sweet. Maybe add a little sugar and some vanilla.
@xlilimariex5 жыл бұрын

I decided to experiment. In order to make a vanilla frosty, I used whole milk instead of chocolate, added a 1/2 cup of sugar, and a tablespoon+ of vanilla extract. Whipped cream and sweetened condensed milk remained the same. Came out perfect (for us). I could see adding some Kahlua or Bailey's. As an added bonus, when the ice cream was done we did a challenge to see who could keep their hand in the subfreezing water the longest. Enjoy!

Check you bucket for leaks. It is normal for salt water to run out of port/drain. It does this to preven salt walter from seeping into canister.

It's heavy cream. You can use straight heavy cream instead of actual milk and you'll have a much sturdier consistency and denser finished product
