Hi Jason n Jen, Wow you’re still at it I see! You’re getting it done,thats awesome. I sure hope all that Dirt n pipe movement keeps the lake away. That has to be a pain in the butt. Fingers crossed! You guys stay safe, warm and God Bless ❤

It looks like so much work....but I envy you. As a retired lady, its my dream to have a camp in Maine. No where near as large as yours, but I can just imagine having a small place to live with the beauty of nature in a simpler life. Not simple as far as work goes....but without the stress of having people just a few feet from you....the constant noise of traffic....landlords and rules and regulations. I look every day in the real estate listings, praying to find an affordable place, and I watch your channel and several others trying to learn about everything involved in living off grid. Sometimes I wonder if I would be brave enough to do it once I do find something! ha! But then, I go to sleep at night and dream the most wonderful dreams about having my own place up in Maine and it seems to be all I can think of! Meanwhile, thanks so much for sharing all about your life. God bless!

It is a lot of work. Neither of us has ever worked harder but the rewards….makes it all worth while! We completely understand your dream…it was our dream too. We hope that one day your dream does become a reality. It’s not an easy lifestyle but so worth it!! Best of luck following your dream and thank you for watching and supporting us on our journey! ♥️

Good morning Jason & Jen from our farm in Central ⛵⛵ Lakes Region New Hampshire! You and Jen have come a long way since the last time I commented. Well done! Not any easy task to get all these buildings functional. We know how cold it can get. Our cottage in the woods sits at the base of the main farm, so we are somewhat protected. November marks one year since I had some serious surgery, followed by three more surgical procedures.Thank you God, that all is well at this point. I look forward to making a Thanksgiving feast for my hubby and brother-in-law. Our farm did well this year. Lots of Hereford calves, a good hay crop. Jason, your carpentry is just fine. Everyone has to start somewhere. Nothing wrong with your homestead having your stamp on it. The ariel view was impressive. Quite the compound from whence you started. Consider making a yearly calendar. All the best and stay warm! ~ Diane

Hi Diane! Each year we look back and are so happy with all we have accomplished. We are so sorry to hear about the surgeries you have had but are glad to hear you have turned a corner and are doing better. So happy that your farm did well this year! We have been taking yearly ariel pictures of the homestead to see the difference!! Take care and have a great weekend!!♥️

Nice job on the drainage! Fingers crossed it will work. Weather stripping looks good too on the cedar planks

Hi there! Just found your channel and subscribed. Love your work ❤ We did a similar drain for our patio area and it made 100% difference the next spring. We,be had no water issues since then.
@HanbleceyaRanchАй бұрын
Thank you so much for the kind words and support! So happy you fixed your spring water issue! We knew we had to remedy our spring “pond” and with the ground frozen, a culvert style drain just made sense. 😊

Nice work ! Hard to tell but if that was schedule 40 pipe you can drive over that without issue. And a scoop of dirt in the bucket and driving back and forth is a great to pack dirt. Take care guys
@HanbleceyaRanchАй бұрын
@@TonyGeneseo that was Sch40 so it looks like I should be good to go 👍 I’m hoping for a good rain to settle the gravel around the pipe so I can tell if I need hit any low points. We’ll have to wait and see. Thanks! 😊

Congratulations on making the BDN! I open the article and the first thing I saw was you. In Maine this is a big deal (IMO).

Thank you! We were surprised when we opened it too. Didn’t expect to be the first thing people saw!😊

Drainage thought. I had a similar issue years ago and instead of diverting the water away I dug and 8 - 10ft dry well roughly 6ft by 6ft across and filled it with gravel and the largest pipes ( think they were 12inch ) drilled like a French drain pipe. It got the drain water down below the frost line and has never flooded since
@HanbleceyaRanchАй бұрын
That’s a great idea!!! I’m not sure how well that would work in our area (high water table), but it’s worth taking a look at. Thanks for the suggestion! 😊

Came across the article in "The County" and subscribed. You moved here a few months before me but I was lucky enough to find a nice log home at a good price. I think you said you were close to Houlton, so you are probably less than 1/2 hour from me.
@HanbleceyaRanchАй бұрын
So glad you found us!! Very happy you were lucky enough to find a log home!! We are outside of Houlton. We will be in Oakfield on the 23rd for a craft fair. You should stop by!! 😊

@@HanbleceyaRanch Didn't know there was a craft fair 23rd. I'm only 2 miles away. Will try to make it.

I just finished closing on some land up towards Oakfield. I'm in the planning stages now of a home. I've been speaking with a few folks about foundations. There isn't a building code where I'm at. l was wondering about blocks or floating slab, pros cons of both.
@HanbleceyaRanchАй бұрын
Great question! I can’t speak to slabs since we don’t have any. All of our buildings are floating on gravel pads. On a side note, we’ll be in Oakfield on Nov 23 for a craft fair. Happy to chat more if you’re able to make it.
