Order some cardboard tubing the same size of each speaker. Cut each tube to length needed just beyond speaker magnet on those penetrating the door panel. Spray foam all voids between tubes from back of trim panel. This will also help with soundwaves to travel into cabin space rather than resonating in the door panel.

Nice job guys! Too bad you couldn't put some rebar inside the doors well done for more support. Got a compensate the window.

As a 17 year welder..... and a basshead, good job on the plates brother! Only thing I would have done different is move around more. Weld a little here and then move to the opposite side. Other then that, great job guys! If anyone else says the welds were bad, BS. I'll call you out on that.

Cool process. Adding some steel to the back of the door pod and bolting to the door could add some strength.

Never bolt the door shut, I drive this a lot..
@bassjasinski Жыл бұрын
Agree, I meant bolt the steel enforced door pod to the door to give extra strength.

I like the move... car audio is a hard industry.. but i have respect for anyone that puts the time in working at a shop.. that is truly where you can actually help customers and help them achieve their goals. Good stuff Jerry 👏

Nice Reinforcement 👌 Metal and Panel... look good

Hell yeah looks solid Does adding metal to the outside of the door let your door close if the gap is really tight like on my truck? If that’s the case is it better to reinforce the inside?
@JerryAintloud Жыл бұрын
Yup most vehicles have at least a 1/4” gap in that area

Jerry. Just an idea which I’ve done myself many times is the door it’s self I’ve laid strips of 3ply on the outside skin and then glassed the hell out of it, get no door flex and saves killing more doors
@JerryAintloud Жыл бұрын
These Jeep doors don’t have issues with the skin, but that frame at front is another story

@@JerryAintloud I know what you mean. Anything I’ve built that’s low and loud the doors always break at window level. It’s a pain in the ass,

This made for a good video, real world bass head problems. More often than not you have to solve problems on the fly. Good content!

Jerry. Another useful idea for Glassing inside small areas is mix up the resin in a Powerade bottle, just shake it up then you have a nozzle that fits into small areas and keeps the job tidy as your squirting resin into tight corners instead of trying to pour it :)

Do yourselves a huge favor and don't pl between the door brace and door skin. Use windshield urethane. Ever since I put it in mine it's been a Hella difference in my doors strength. I was going thru a door a bout every 8 months. Ever since I put urethane in between the brace and my door skin it's kept the door together way better. I don't rip my door lock bolts thru my door anymore

you can cut another inner door skin from the junk yard and overlay it

In your opinion, what is the best bass knob out there?
@JerryAintloud Жыл бұрын
from me experience they're all really close to the same. my favorite I ever had was a 20hz labz. but he stopped making them.

I think those new DS18's you have are going to do more damage than you think. I have 2 12's of the same subwoofers. I have them running off half of my 4 channel right now and they are beating the crap out of my car. Granted, I have a JP10.4 for my highs and mids, but I have two JP13.2ab for them. I just need to find room for all 3 amplifiers in the trunk. I have the 2 12's, 120AH of Yinlong, 2 JP13.2ab, and a JP10.4 to try to fit into the trunk of a 2006 Mercedes CL500. 🤦
