It's science disguised as magic (my fave kind of science haha) ! Hot Liquid wax becomes solid when it cools down. The water is probably pretty warm (which is why the wax doesn't immediately cool down and harden as soon as he poured it into the water) and this enabled him to take his time shaping the wax while it's still in the water.

In Japan outside of restaurants they have wax plates of the food they serve. You can see and get an idea of what you'd like to order and what they offer without reading a menu. I think it's a great idea and I wish places in America would do something like that.

I've seen people claiming this is what Japan and China do, selling plastic food but no, this is for display in a restaurant that is hyper realistic so you can visually see how a meal is supposed to look. Get off Facebook for once and do some proper research rather than rely on "real vs fake food" videos produced by corporate companies simply trying to get views from "shock value".
