A quick and easy project made to replace my old Japanese sawhorses that were to big for my current needs.
They are very useful in the shop for various tasks, sawing, raising a workpiece, supports, and I believe is suitable project for a beginner in this field or like a first tool/jig in the shop.

Thank you Franco for your comment! Yes, some are more practical than the others, i don't think I can stick using 100% only eu or jp tools.

Thanks Jakob! The bench might go to pension sooner :) I'm planing to make a small japanese planing board and detach the small vise from the old bench and make it clamp-able whenever needed. Still studying how to incorporate more features in the planing board. Have a nice weekend also!

Your videos are inspiring! I'm already using some techniques I picked up here! I enjoy the hypnotic music especially on this one. I was sorry to see a negative comment about the music because I hope you will continue in this same style.

Very nice! What brand of chisels do you use?
@AdrianPreda
@AdrianPreda 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Those are MHG, a german brand, one of the cheapest types of professional, lets say, chisels. Maybe Narex are cheaper. It's like 10 euro/$ a piece. I have 5pc, 6,8,12,16,25 mm. Now I just bought a japanese chisel, 12mm, 1/2", made by Matsumura, is like 4x the price of one MHG. It's not 4x sharper or better than MHG, but the feel and pleasure working with it made me regret why I didn't bought from the beginning only just two 6 and 12 mm of this type :)

Great! I look forward to what you come up with. Some of the larger trees need to be turned so that the folage receives the same amount of sunlight all round, and they can be heavy, so some kind of turntable display mount would be really handy..
