Inspired by Karl Jacobs's character in "Tales From the SMP" I designed and made Karl's time travel journal by hand. In this video, I show you step by step how I did this bookbinding project. The design for the book is based on Karl's Jacobs roleplay characters on the Dream SMP. This is my next video on my Minecraft roleplay DIY bookbinding series from the Dream SMP. I took a class like that in uni this past spring actually. It was labeled as Publication, and it covered book contents, book design, and book binding. And I can assure you Yes. Book binding a hard cover book is as fun as it looks here.

this was so cute, i'm off to watch your ranboo book right away! i've always loved bookbinding and i appreciate how honest you are about it. like 'this took four hours' and 'yeah i just glued it on'. it just shows how you can make something sick even if you don't really know what you're doing. plus, i think the 'mistakes' like the faux leather, corner decorations being too small, the tea stain logo, etc... add a lot of character. it feels like karl made this book using all kinds of different materials throughout his journeys, and just ahh nice job! i know i'm only one person but you got a sub from me :D

What we learned from this video. Oh no it’s not the step of how you make the the book we learned. That Glue is your life saver and is your friend when making a book so when you see a glue lying around make sure not to throw it away- Half of the people who sees this: throws the glue away.

Hello! I have never done bookbinding before and you have inspired me to try it! I love Ranboo and Karl's books, I think they look amazing! Also, I don't know if this was said in the comments already, but you said folding the material on the outside of the book was difficult to do around the spine. I remember in your Ranboo bookbinding you wrapped the outside of the book first before putting the pages in and I think that might help you feel more satisfied with the end result. But it look's amazing either way you do it!!
