Thanks for watching! Please save your breath regarding CROSS CONTAMINATION and how awful of a company KFC is! I personally don’t love either, but most non-vegan restaurants have cross contamination, and I didn’t even go to KFC that much before going vegan (I really wanted to support Beyond more than anything). That being said, I won’t tell anybody they’re not VEGAN for getting this product and neither should you! The conversation is boring and tired, so like I said, save your breath bucko!

i will definitely be trying this one out myself. as far as Beyond or Impossible, i finally tried the Imposiburgers a week ago since CostCo had them on sale and i do prefer their 'taste' over the Beyondburgs but i'm seriously not a fan of paying over $1 more for these products when used as the substitute in the same "meat" versions at the fast food joints. pay more for the grains typically used to feed cattle even though you're eliminating the cattle in the equation. that's don't make no sense. oh... and it would be interesting to try Mary's Chickeny Chickless Seitan in this version also xD

That's because plant farmers aren't being given billions of free dollars to make products cheaper. If they did, fruits and vegetables would probably cost pennies.

Freezing tofu does take time, but I will get in the habit of just having some already frozen, then I can just thaw it when I need it (though that takes some time to, but if you thaw it in the morning or overnight it works out pretty well!) And thank you!

I did a monthly subscription for a 1.5 kilo box of oyster mushrooms here in the uk. For 3 deliveries. After much denial I’ve finally accepted that I’m allergic to them. Apparently they have “muscarine” in them & it always wants to get out of your body as rapidly as possible. 🥺🥺🥺

I love the frozen tofu technique, but mine always turns out a little spongey. I re-watched the Mary's Test Kitchen video and she recommends medium or medium firm tofu, but not extra firm. I can't find Medium or medium firm in my area to try and see if works. She recommended to only free once if you have extra firm.

I get it - Beyond is a household name because it was available to purchase in grocery stores well before Impossible was, but I honestly don't get excited to hear about a Beyond product. To me, Beyond has a weird aftertaste and I really hate that about it. On the other hand, Impossible products have had me wondering if they were really meat. A friend of mine ordered an Impossible burger at a restaurant, but they brought it to her with the wrong side. There were 3 of us there and none of us could figure out if they'd brought someone else's meat-burger instead of her Impossible burger so she wouldn't touch it until they changed it. That being said, if a restaurant switched to Impossible products, I would definitely give it a go (and have done so where [im]possible 😂).

Maybe somebody can better inform me, but I thought not because of cross-contamination that the Kentucky fried beyond chicken was not vegan due to the ingredients in the crust; but that it was vegetarian and not gluten free. I am pretty sure it said that they use eggs and dairy in the crust production.
@suicune20012 жыл бұрын
I just looked at the KFC website for milk and egg allergens and it says the Beyond Nuggets (as well as their other chicken products) do not contain any milk or eggs. And cross-contamination doesn't mean it isn't vegan. The point is to not pay to eat animals. You didn't pay for an animal to be killed just because of cross-contamination. It's like when people said they wouldn't eat the Impossible Whopper because it's cooked on the same grill. Paying for a vegan burger doesn't suddenly make it not vegan just because someone else's burger was on the same grill as yours. And as vegan products get more and more popular, there will be fewer beef burgers.
@TheeBurgerDude2 жыл бұрын
I tried to find anywhere where it said this and couldn’t. From my understanding the main issue is the frying oil.
@jacklynland31092 жыл бұрын

I ate the KFC as soon as I got them (they were piping hot) and then the on camera test is right when I got them home. The ones I made had been sitting for probably around 10 minutes or so, which is about the same time it took me to drive home from KFC, so short answer, yes lol
