What happens when you boil the mushroom with a not chicken bouillon and let it absorb the chicken flavor, then dehydrate it to give it a more meaty jerky consistency, then proceed to deep fry it like in the video.

My husband started growing mushrooms (shiitake and oyster) in January. We had the shiitakes raw in salad and stir fried. Delicious, but ordinary. We both wanted something special for his oyster shrooms because not only were they huge, but also beautiful. We were both cruising the internet separately and found this recipe. Into the kitchen I went and not long after we sat down to a meal of deep fried oyster mushrooms with your remoulade (I added finely diced red onion and more garlic). Oh. My. It was fabulous. We can hardly wait for the next crop. Used the leftover remoulade for roast beef beef sandwiches the next day and it was perfection. We’re not vegan, um, roast beef, but I’m going to try a few of your other recipes just because this one is so tasty. Thank you!!

Hi- I came here on a recommendation from Mark at Sauce Stache. Really enjoyed the 6 vids or so I’ve watched so far. FWIW, we make a version of the oyster mushroom by oven frying it- less messy and *slightly* more healthy- oven at 425, place on baking pan with parchment paper, sprinkle with oil of choice, 20 minutes, turn over, another sprinkle and 15 minutes more. Cool. Done. BTW, subscribed! 👍

I just tried this and loved it!!! I can’t have gluten so I replaced the wheat flour for white rice flour and it worked perfectly. Also I used caper brine instead of pickle because that is what I had. Thanks for the recipe!!

First time here . Just subscribed ! Was trying to find something else and saw that pix of your video and was going to click on it and thought Nooo than back and said Yes , check it out lol . Glad I did . This looks soo much like fried chicken . I Been vegan for almost a year and a half and barely learned about the oyster mushroom . This is by far the closest I seen to real chicken and I know it’s going to be delicious . Been looking for the oyster mushroom at the Asian supermarkets but none .
