Hello Mrs devi I bought a jar of kumquat pickle, I threw it away, I will go Wednesday and go buy a sack, Mrs devi do you sell these pickle, you are so so accurate and precise with your recipe, pranesh must be enjoying your treats lol, I love both recipes mainly sweet and sour, I was wondering why this pickle I bought looked black, and I can't eat stuff that triggers joint pain, also Mrs devi I think pranesh must invest in this is how we roll recipes book, it's alot of work, but the Indian delight was too, just an idea because you have knowledge of other stuff as well, besides the snow, 😂🎉

Thank you for putting this up. Could you please put up a classic Durban Samosa recipe. I used to love those small triangles of deliciousness. The Samosa we get here in NZ are stodgy, tasteless potatoes things not always but on the whole. Have a nice day.

Thank u for an awesome tutorial. Like to know why did u add sesame seed does it enhance flavour thank u
@GaithreeDeviLuckan Жыл бұрын
Yes the roasted sesame seeds give a nice nutty flavour to the pickle.
@1010sunnyguyАй бұрын
So both are sweet as you mixed sugar in both . What is the difference in taste? Thanks
@GaithreeDeviLuckanАй бұрын
The sweet and sour has 1/2 a cup sugar while the pickle has only 1 tsp sugar while soaking overnight. Thew sweet and sour is therefore much sweeter. The sugar in the pickle is more for balance and also will act as a preservative.

Hello Sweet Mama.🙏What a nice surprise didn't know it could be in an achar thank you for this🙏. Also known as "gold orange", this fruit is native to china, yet available freely all over the world. Your recipe, will taste equally good, served as a dip or side item, and will greatly enhance a simple meal.Have a nice day.🙏🌹🥀🍎
@GaithreeDeviLuckan Жыл бұрын
Hi Chota. Here's a fun fact from Pranesh. You mention orange and did you know that orange the colour is named after the fruit. The name for orange comes from the Sanskrit Naranga and when Persian traders took the fruit they called it naranj. Before orange, the old English word for the colour was red yellow or yellow red...
@chotaconhyedoss2657 Жыл бұрын
@@GaithreeDeviLuckan 100% agree with Pranesh.Before oranges were introduced to the English-speaking world the color known today as the orange was known as "geoluhread" which meant "yellow-red".Is that why people with orange hair are called redheads?By the way in Mauritius local oranges never turn orange color when ripened it stay green with yellow blemished n is still very sweet peoples don`t buy they prefer their CAPE fruits from SA.

How long will it stay good after making this
@GaithreeDeviLuckan7 ай бұрын
@@raynierllewis2827 hi easily 2 months and maybe longer. One thing to avoid is getting any moisture in. So no wet spoons. Also make sure your containers are sterilized before storing

What prevents Pickle from going off in the fridge? The vinegar or the oil. Or should we just make smaller batches so it gets finished quicker?
@sylviamichael4922 Жыл бұрын
Most common reason is we put the spoon to our mouth and back in the pickle which should be avoided at all costs as this causes the pickle to go off.Another reason is if you intend keeping it for a long time it should be covered in oil over the pickle and can be kept out of the fridge for months.

Hi gathree thank u 4 always taking time to share all yr amazing recipes with us GOD bless u i have had a lot of lemons i need to find out from u while ago i made some lemon pickle the skin was very bitter what is reason 4 that pls advise will realy appreciate it yr feed back
@GaithreeDeviLuckan Жыл бұрын
You want to keep the level of the oil above the pickled kumquats as much as possible. With any pickle if the air gets in contact with the pickled fruit or veg it tends to develop mould and spoil. Then as Sylvia says introducing moisture is also a way pickle spoils.
@GaithreeDeviLuckan Жыл бұрын
It may be the type of lemon you have that has a more bitter skin. Do your lemons have a very thick skin?

Have a doubt,so you dont remove the seed from the kumquat?
@GaithreeDeviLuckan10 ай бұрын
Hi there, you can if you prefer that but with the small fruit and my arthritis I left them in and when we eat the pickle we pick them out as we eat.

😢dont u have to remove the seeds There are quite a few seeds in each fruit
@GaithreeDeviLuckan Жыл бұрын
There are seeds in the fruit that are hard to get to. We pickle the fruit and when eating the pickle know that the seeds are still in so are careful as we eat them.
