No preservatives? Or the vitamin E is the preservative?

Vitamin E isn’t a preservative but it is an antioxidant so it helps keep oils fresh longer. But its not a preservative. You don’t need a preservative since this doesn’t contain water 😁

This might be a super dumb question but I’m struggling so much. I’m making my gloss formula and want to do 20% oils to 80% gloss base. That would equal 100% of my formula, but how do the percentages of pigment and flavouring work into such a formula? Any help would be so appreciated!

i guess you’d have to lessen the percentage of either the oil or the base to make room for the pigment and flavouring.

If you’re using a base like Versagel or a similar gel like base, you’ll be able to add both oils,flavoring(which typically comes in oils,)and colors(can be mica,or lip liquids which are usually castor oil and micas mixed together) and the most I’d recommend for all of these things is 45% to a 55% base ratio, but the percentages can vary as long as the base is higher. To the oil percentage, if you want to keep it at 20%, you’d have to add flavoring oil into that percentage. So for example, you have,10%coconut oil,3%almond oil,5% jojoba oil, you’d have, 2% left. In that 2% you could add the mica/liquid pigment and flavoring oil. For example, 0.5% mica and 1.5% flavoring oil.I’d recommend experimenting with different percentages too. You can also have the same amount of mica as you do one of the lower oils, like 5% or less or a little more, depends on you. Flavoring is most commonly an oil so keep that in mind.
