The first time I saw a colour changing product was a green lip stick in the early 90's

Hey Tara, love your videos! Between you and Marie I've learned so much over the years... so thank you! Tip for filling tubes, I use a small piping bag. I find it easier when grouping the tubes in a cup to fill them.

Flexagel comes with a preservative in it. Versagel is the one with no preservative. I switch to Flexagel because of that reason. I used slightly too much preservative in versagel once because my scale was off and it caused my lips to go numb, lmao. So I had to throw away 50 tubes of gloss -_-

Thank you for sharing this. I formulated mine few weeks ago and got it right after my first try. I noticed the first one was activated even before I could feel it in the bottle. And yes mica did activate it as I tried that. I wanted a plump lip oil but unfortunately any actives added to it will also activate it. It a formulation that doesn’t want too much ingredient in it as it is very sensitive also the colour of oil can also change how it looks eg using jojoba oil could probably give the yellowish rather than clear white colour

@samantha.345Ай бұрын
You can clean it out but you have to use a very small scrub brush and hot soapy water. Also you can't use rubbing alcohol to sanitize the rubber part will not be able to push through. 😅

oh no! ugh that sounds like something i don’t want to do. lol

@@TaraLeee sure right, now I use a piping bag or plastic bag and a pipette, after I just dump it 😁

Thanks Tara. I am working on this too. IPCS does have a colour changing video but they use citric acid. Have you tried adding citric acid?

You can use Isopropyl myristate, it cleans it like magic.

My mom used to have this green lipstick that made your lips a really pretty pink, IDK if it's the same technology but she got it in the 80's.

@@TaraLeee @Selinnaguz Sadly I couldn't source it here either. I had a powder sample from a pigment company abroad, but they wouldn't provide any information about it, so I couldn't know how genuine/safe it was. The video I made was on patron and was made from crystal clear wax and other clear ingredients from TKB trading. Sadly if you want to make colour cosmetics in the UK you just need to order from the US. We don't seem to have any suppliers who have many of the required ingredients over here, as they all seem to focus on 'natural' formulation, so we miss out on loads of great ingredients.

My thought is ,we're making those at home so we don't use preservative on our skin so it defeats the purpose of being homemade, what about we just put on the label to discard after 6 months?
@gj97Ай бұрын
Hi! Since it's an anhydrous product. If used carefully it might be used for 6 months!
