Good idea. After using the cheaper pop found that it doesn't become hard enough to withstand pressure. So used dental pop instead

The extra lure sprue is ingenious! I hate how much plastic is lost in some of these molds. You really need to patent that and sell it to the larger mold makers. Great job man.

What a clever idea to benifit fron additional lure, that is a something i ve never thaught about 👍👍👍 Good job, for the bubbles as you read in a comment, a thin layer and wait for a moment... And when you poore your plaster after that, do it not on the body of the lure, fill arround it. Thank you for your sharing 🤝

Something that might help you with bubbles around you lures. Pour a thin layer over your bait and let sit for a minute or two. That will help let the bubbles escape and fill the rest up. Now I use silicone but it should work with the plaster.

How long do you need to let the first layer set before you pour the top layer? I know you left it overnight due to life but if you were just doing it how long would be a good leave time?
@RegularGuyLures10 ай бұрын
You just need to wait until it’s set or hardened. At that point, just use an oil based mold release like petroleum jelly or cooking spray and then you can pour the next layer of plaster on top of it. You need to make certain that your mold master will either not stick to the plaster or apply a mold release to that as well. Stay Regular!

Hey regular guy, when you brush your Mold with petroleum jelly would worm oil as an alternative?
@RegularGuyLures11 ай бұрын
Thank you for the support. I've never used worm oil, but any oil based lubricant which would hold to the mold would get the job done. Lately I have been using a coating of cooking spray. Petroleum jelly is dirty and cheap, but I found cooking spray to be, quick, dirty and cheap which makes it better! The petroleum jelly is what I was using for the first pour to see if the mold worked. Once I like the mold I add two coats of polyurethane which acts as a permanent mold release. It also helps the lures have a more shiny finish. You Stay Regular!

Why don’t you use the packaging as a mould for your lures?
@RegularGuyLures3 ай бұрын
I’ve thought about that before but from what I’ve seen the packaging has a lot less detail and I’m not certain if the tail would wiggle. But there is only one way to find and that is to make a mold. You Stay Regular!

@@buffaloperformanceandanaly1431 I’m so excited to hear you tried it out! Flaking will happen sometimes, but once I’m happy with the mold that’s when I seal it with the polyurethane. Do you preheat the mold
@RegularGuyLures6 ай бұрын
