I enjoy watching your videos and you do great work, very creative....the only thing with this project, to me, the magnetic drill is for when you can't put the thick metal under the drill press. Anyone who has bought a decent mag base drill, will definitely already have a drill press. Edit: After doing some research (I have only used a mag drill once) it seems you cant use the angular cutters in a drill press, so the advantages of these cutters can only be used in a mag drill.....so I get it.

as a mag. drill user I commend your work on this stand. its heavy duty and I like that. The only thing I question is the laminating of sheet steel in the base, it might cause the magnet to over heat during prolonged use or heavy drilling. I used 1/2" plate for my base and it has served me well for over 20 years.

Fajnie ci to wyszło.

i never understood what polish people collect the junk from our streets until i found your channel :D the project is nice, but i think, a drillpress is a machine, every shop should have (especially if you do work that justifies having a mag drill) i'd really like to see you build a milling machine from scrap stuff. i tried this several times and failed horribly, would be nice to see if you could do it, just because my working style is shockingly similar to yours.

Congratulations on your underpowered drill press! I'm a fan of your show, but as a fellow fabricator, you will probably be much happier with a decent drill press (i don't mean a big box store bought unit). I will give credit where credit is due. It probably didn't cost you a thing to build, and it looks sturdy as hell.
@markfryer98806 жыл бұрын
Nice job. I liked the built in storage made from 6 mm plate. That thing is not going anywhere. I suspect that you will find your clamping arrangements to be annoying when changing drill bits and cutters. Suggested solution would be to make them swivel out of the way.

@Joe T it's an evolution 10 inch multi material blade. It's only ment to be used on the evolution 3 saw that hes using though. I looked into it already and it sounds like it's more for a light user. The saw and blades only like $200 combined.
