There are several ideas floating around the Internet about blue crayfish and that causes the blue color. About the blue crawfish, once, i went to a river near my hour and I found a huge pile of crawfish shells. Like something went and ate a bunch of crawfish there and all the shells were blue. There were like at least 10 crawfish. My friends that go there a lot said its very common to find blue shells. We couldn't find any live ones that were blue. The river was in an area that didn't normally have blue crawfish...

Sometimes blue claws mean an old claw, and some crawfish have blue claws but not blue bodies, that’s very normal.

take a milk jug cut the mouth wider just so you can fit your hand in, then burry it under water all the way so the very top of the jug is flush with the bottom then stab the lid of a cat food can with a knife and stick it in. when i catch craw fish by hand ill set a few of these traps and check them about every thirty minutes in between just grabbing them each one usually has a few freebes in it.

You should plan a trip to Michigan. you would really enjoy fishing the Muskegon River. It is absolutely gorgeous, we get a lot of good size rainbow and brown trout, and then when the steelhead and salmon are running that is a really good time as well. There are tons of crawdads in the river. We also get a lot of good size small mouth bass out of the river.. the river is crystal clear.
