That is true people still find good Niches to compete, the problem is that famous platforms are rejecting new members and whatever you post will be for nothing. This was a great idea, nice duo :) I'm confused about CMYK vs RGB tho, and you haven't mentioned this in the video. When we create a design with, let's say, Leonardo AI, it generates an RGB image, right? Should we convert that image to CMYK? If so, what would be the way to do it? I've tried rgb2cmyk and it changes the colors too much. If I go on Affinity Designer 2 and set "Document Setup - Color - Color Format" to CMYK/8, will it be able to convert the leonardo rgb image into an accurate cmyk image? Does it have to be a vectorized image? I tried exporting on Affinity as a CMYK TIFF image, and it changes the colors quite a bit, then when I import it back to Affinity, so that I can convert it to PNG (as Redbubble doesn't accept TIFF, afaik), the original colors reappear... You have talked about designing in CMYK in an older video (and Redbubble mentions that we should do it too), but in your AI art videos you never mention this. Do you just upscale the image you get from Leonardo or Midjourney (and maybe add text and/or delete backgrounds) and that's it? Sorry for this long comment, idk if you'll see it, but I'm very confused about colors.

You can change it to CMYK to be safe but sometimes it's kind of tough to do (depending on your graphic app of choice) so I would just watch out for super bright colors

@@DetourShirts Yeah, I've already experienced that it can be a tricky process 😂. The app I've been using now is Affinity Designer 2. I'll try to stay away from those very bright colors, I'll try adding a prompt on Leonardo to ask it for CMYK colors, and hopefully it won't generate me super bright stuff. Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for this. Need few clarification. At what point do we vectorize image downloaded from these AI platforms. I have seen some videos where people just upscale the image add some text and then use that on printify while some videos say to download image and then vectorize, then add text etc to be used on printify. What makes us decide what steps to follow if you could elaborate please. Thanks

You either Vectorize to upscale or just upscale.... If you have a vector art looking design (simple graphics) I would download and then vectorize then use a graphics app to upscale.... if your design is more complex I would download and then upscale..... either way you need to scale it up because most AI art is only 1024x1024 and we need about 4500x5400 for tshirts.

Yes you can! Some of those prompts that Philip said.... contained within a circle and round sticker..... I like to use t-shirt design as a prompt and that works sometimes too

There already is something like that.... use /describe in MidJourney and drag in a design... it will describe it with 4 different prompts and you can try all prompts to see what MidJourney creates with the prompts.

I don't think it's just AI content.... I think it's AI content that is spamming the platform. If you use AI in a way like you would use clipart and add to it I think it would be fine.

Yes... It can be used for POD commercial... just make sure to use the right ones. Not everything made by AI is good to use for POD

For me it's Amazon Merch on Demand..... Amazing traffic, fits my style, ability to scale.... Some people love Etsy, some love their own site... it really depends on the seller

AI doesn’t create your full design for you because it can’t get inside your head. Better to use it to build individual elements. Also it is not a mind reader, so it will take you way over 200 image generations to get the things you need for a design. Lots of throw away images in the process. Midjourney is particularly bad at creating highly specific elements for POD. It’s better at creating random fine art. it’s also terrible at understanding plain English. It needs a “prompt engineer” to get specific results.
