Really lovely project! I love the tiles! Gosh the multitude of ways you could apply the remaining stones is inspiring! Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

I know! I need to make bigger ones. I think I’m going to save some for when we make our back patio and set them into the bench seating. 😊

Here is a tip, take your blank block, apply a thin layer of thin set. Take the thin set block and place on the block with the stones, press and lift. Once dry apply the grout.

Ooh good idea! That would work great on the geometric patterns thanks! 😊

And that way you don’t have to remake your design after you initially lay it out! Is that grout weatherproof for outdoor use? Good project video ty

@@pattyseree I don’t know if it’s intended to be outdoor but I put them outside anyway lol 🤷🏼♀️

Those turned out really well. They look fantastic and your patterns were really beautiful. Now that makes me want to try something like that! I used to do all phases of construction and ive done more than my fair share of tiling. And that can be such a fabulous idea! And something to do with the grandkids! Great idea and fabulous video! Thanks for sharing and yours turned put just beautiful!

Thanks! You should try it, it’s not that difficult. 😊

If you're looking for more of those, they're usually called "undrilled", and if you buy directly from the makers/manufacturers, you can sometimes specify you want undrilled stones. There's usually a slight discount from small sellers for undrilled stones. Also look into vinyl transfer sheets (clear, somewhat sticky acetate or thick vinyl that has lines printed on the back) for moving delicate designs from one place to another. They look so cool 🤩🤩

@@RocksForBrains yeah you inspired me to pull out a piece of marble but I will be doing something a little cheaper gluing my stones to it making something for my kids. I haven’t seen my kids in a long time almost broke my rock saw just broke I’ve been in Family Court for 10 years it’s torture. Doing creative things helps me

Good use for those little stones, I just made mosaic turtle out of Petoskey stones, (fossilized rugose coral, Hexagonaria percarinata) Looking forward to your petrified wood video.

These were very beautiful! Years ago my friends and I tried to make our own stepping stones. We used a square cake pan and arranged pieces of different colored glass into a design and then poured cement over them and let them dry. Mine turned out OK but it wasn't nearly as nice as yours. I would like to try it the way you did it. Can you purchase the flat polished diamond shaped gemstones online? Thanks Lauren!

Thanks! You can get polished gemstone chips but I couldn’t find anything this shape. 🤷🏼♀️
