I bought my stolen recoverd BMW M140i from auction a while back now and rebuilt it to look like a BMW M2 hatchback. Now it looks like one i think it was time it performed like one. I try to remap my BMW M140i to make it faster than the M2... But i think we may be needing more than just a remap.

Always fun to see someone going all out with the fuel and turbo upgrades. I don't think I'll ever feel the need to though.. I've played about with my M140i a fair bit though and I think, for the average person, the first (or only) 3 upgrades to look into are 1: Stage 1 tune. 2: Limited slip differential. 3:Suspension and/or Underbody brace. In my opinion, they make the best improvements for the money and together, deliver a night and day distinction over the stock driving experience, which was already pretty decent and good enough for most.

The official numbers are heavily undervalued by BMW, so it doesn't compete with the real Ms. I think the m340i has officially stock 370hp.

Hmm think you need to work on your technique, I've hit a 3.8/9 seconds 0-60mph in my M240i Stage 2, though that's not where our cars accel at, you should get some 100-200 kmh times, hitting 7s is where we dominate.

Wicked video Mat !! But I have to say I’m shocked with their dyno results as B58 on stage 2 is always between 450-470 bhp , so I don’t know if they dyno gives lower numbers or their map isn’t as good as others. Stage 2+ (only upgraded fuel pump on 30% ethanol mix) can give you over 500bhp Also ,stock B58 is capable of 700 BHP Tom Wrigleys M240i had 700bhp on stock engine.

the M140i is definitely quicker than the M2 already, this car's 100-200kmh this will be in the 7s whereas a stock M2C stock is in the 9s.

Go crazy on the suspension and the dif! Ideas; - Struts - Competition coilovers - LSD or some sick BMW diff - Bit of rear camber - The best rubber on the market Should make it do a draggy quicker.

@MAT I NEED YOUR ADVICE. I HAVE A BMW 323 E90 (NOTHING SPECIAL BY YOUR STANDARDS ). bought it as a second hand. it started making weird noises in the engine. turns out there is a lot of sludge (built up oil). do i overhaul or buy a new second hand engine?🤕🤕😁

M2 Competition is 410BHP, not 450BHP. So you've done a really good job getting 435

11:21 a 2017 m2 comp us around 450HP? Firstly they didn't make the M2 comp untill mid 2018. Secondly a comp makes 411HP as standard, and Having owned a standard m2 lci and m140i, there is fuck all in it for straight line speed.

Remember that ALL magazines and the Car companies don't actually do a standard 0-60 Or 0-100kmh. They ALL do a roll out run for all of them. Look into it. There are videos on this (check out Hagerty) explaining what they do and why no one in the real world on regular bitumen (Un prepped road) can measure up to their times.

Man if i had some serious money, i would do what you did to your car. I have a e92 320d m sport highline for 9 years now. I love this car to bits fully loaded. Just gutted i have very little cash to try fix/fit bits n bobs. I love the car to bits, only thing i make sure i have cash is for maintenance. But any scuffs and body repair "zero cash" :( Hard when you have a 35 year mortgage.

Matt, you needed to get that tuned somewhere else, Decat 140's are making 470bhp with ease. Stage 1 cars make more than 435. Irrelevant now your going hybrid though.

Love the videos, but the one thing that has been irking me for the past 3 videos or so "everyone knows not to 60 times don't mean anything in a real wheel drive car" makes little sense, which is why RWD cars are still proving to be performing better than FWD cars both in motorsports and the on the road... If you don't know how to launch the car or it isn't setup properly for optimised grip, it doesn't mean it's a drive axle issue, it's a user or setup issue. From the user to the tires, tire compound type, wheel specs, suspension tuning and crucially power delivery. In fact RWD cars are naturally favorable to acceleration because when launching they load the drive wheels and favors grip. Now if the other elements are not setup right, the driven wheels get overloaded and break grip, which is what is going on with this car.
