great job, I just bought a 2018 fusion hybrid titanium. I though titanium had lane assist. I WAS WRONG. Thinking of adding. Thanks for the video.

This is very useful information thanks for posting it! Is the same camera also used for adaptive cruise control?
@ChadMees Жыл бұрын
Adaptive cruise uses a radar module behind the bumper. It is not part of this system

How does the cover come off that holds the adaptive cruise control? I’m looking at adding some tint and I want to know how to take it off without damaging it or the glass.

Sir, this is genius! Good video. Two questions, is there a motor or something pre-installed in our steering wheels that allows this plug-in-play to work? (2016 mkx reserve). And from your video, you replaced your windshield why? Also I have a M1 Mac 🤓, is it better to run some type of parallels or just get some cheap surface off of Facebook marketplace in able to run forscan?
@ChadMees2 жыл бұрын
I do not know for the MKX but I would assume it is similar to pretty much every other Ford right now with EPAS (Electric Power Assisted Steering). I had to replace my windshield because I had the basic mirror that uses a plain old style metal mount for the mirror. The Fusions with LKA have a mirror that twists into place with a completely different style mount. It is likely that you have rain sensing wipers and automatic high beams already so you wouldn't need to change the windshield. If you are looking at the mirror from the inside you will see a large plastic shroud around the mirror then you are probably in business. If all you see is a small 1in x 1in "shoe" mount then you will have to replace the windshield. If you have the space on your Mac then I would just use parallels. A lot of guys do this without issue. I personally have my mac setup with Bootcamp but I think that isn't supported on the M1 macs. Parallels is the way I would go personally since you can technically get everything you need for free if you know where to look. ;)

@@ChadMees what part of Kansas are you from? Anywhere close to Kansas City? I’m not sure about the EPAS and that’s what kind of scares me before going into this. However I do have the rain sensing and automatic dimming components built into my rearview mirror. I am so surprised with the interchangeability of things between the fusion and the MKX/edge. I went to the junkyard and got apart from a ‘13 Focus from my 16 MKX.
@ChadMees2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delayed reply. KZbin didn’t notify me. I am south of KC in Overland Park/ Olathe area. I would assume you have EPAS because Ford does this to no longer require a hydraulic power steering pump. I’m pretty sure all of the ford/Lincoln line uses this system except for the heavy duty lines like the F-450

I don’t think my harness had a part number on it. I know you could just get the pins and add wires to your current connector if you cannot find the harness. I believe it is only 2 wires that are added if I recall correctly

Hi Chad. Amazing work. 2 questions. How do i access the menu in forscan to carry out the coding changes? Second, the codes you posted for your fusion, would they be the same for my 2015 Kuga? I believe you guys call this model escape! Thank you
@ChadMees9 ай бұрын
I’m not sure on the Kuga. It is programmed on a different architecture if I recall correctly. FORScan can modify some of the asbuilt for your car but not all. I believe your programming is more similar to the Focus and can be accessed through the FOCCus software. I’m not 100% sure that’s the name of it but the CC stands for the architecture of the system

I have 2014 energi Titanium, recently replaced power steering, I’m trying to do the Line keep assist calibration using forescan. During the scan at 30% it says procedure interrupted. I’m using OBD2 USB ELMconfig FoCCCus Diagnostic Scan Tool with MS-Can/HS-Can Switch connected to forscan computer. I suspect that MS/HS unit that I’m using can do this procedure!!!! What is the unit that you used to do your calibration? Will appreciate the purchase link. Thanks

Curious if I could enable Lane Assist but without installing the steering wheel squib ( since i do not have button for LA )? I've tried with some changes via Forscan in IPMA and IPC modules but no success.
