It turned out beautifully. I would love for you to do a tutorial showing how you do your cables. I couldn’t tell from the video. Love the videos of your family. I was holding my breath watching your son climb the tree. It’s so wonderful that you fiancée will help his son be adventurous and establish his confidence in life. What is your son’s name. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much❤️ I'm not sure I'd be great at doing tutorials as I'm not very good at explaining how to do things😅 But For my the cables, I cable without a cable needle that I learned from some Instagram tutorials🙈 and for the bigger cables I use a needlereguldo it the "regular" way❤️ My fiancé finds it quite nerve-wracking to watch him climb too, but he tries to hide it so our sons won't see! His name is Alexander🥰

What a job and a result 🤎🤎, isnt it too big and heavy? Anyway, you can wear it like that without coat 😍. It it good to knit for oneself and not for other people 😁😁😁

It was such a labor of love! It's quite big and heavy, but it's definitely not too big or too heavy. It's really great to wear without a coat, but once the colder weather of winter really starts, it will be great underneath a coat too❄️

Happy New Year! Sweater no 20 has been on my list for almost a year. You inspired me to add it to my WiP pile, using Drops Alaska in the wheat colorway. Your sweater looks amazing on you. I agree that a split hem looks great on an oversized sweater. I will do the same. Take care and thanks for sharing❤

@slavkanovakova I'm so happy with this sweater! It immediately became one of my favorites, and I've lived in it since finishing it🙈 Finally a sweater where I got the positive ease I was looking for! The sleeves are still tight compared to the body, but I am just so happy that they are loose! I'm so happy I split the hem! It's so much more flattering this way, in my opinion❤️

Oh my goodness, Oline, absolutely stunning. The cables, the style and fit of the sweater, the split hem you chose to do, everything. Plus the color looks beautiful on you, a lovely neutral that is timeless. Congratulations! Another beautiful vlog for me to watch as I work on some Christmas socks for myself. As I have said many times before, thanks so much for all that you do and share with us. One question -what are the KNIT awards?

The gammeldans is just like watching a dance here in Shetland, i guess it's easy to see where it comes from. Love the sweater. I'm knitting the Dagmar jacket in Alaska at the moment. I love the yarn but it definitely takes a lot of it. I think i have to buy some more to finish it ☺
@norwegianknitter

How fun! That gammeldans is called "reinlender" here if that rings any bells❤️ A Dagmar jacket in Alaska sounds so great, but the cables do really eat the yarn😅

Tillykke!! Fantastisk sweater du har lavet. Den klæder dig så godt!! Tak for den fine 😮sammenredigerede video. Interessant at se hvordan du strikker.

Another beautiful piece and an amazing video. I would be interested to know how you’ve found yarns that you’ve used have worn. I use drops yarn but I’ve only just started so don’t know which ones to use. Wishing you and your beautiful family a happy Christmas and a happy and healthy new year ❤
@norwegianknitter
@norwegianknitter Ай бұрын
Thank you! It's honestly a lot of trial and error finding yarns you like😅 I really like the Nepal/Lima/Flora yarns from drops, and of course, the merino wool they have! This was my first time trying Alaska, and I've lived working with that yarn too! For me, the fiber, price, and feel of the yarn is the most important when choosing yarn. Rubbing the yarn on your neck is a good way to check if it's itchy for you or not🥰 Happy Christmas & New Year to you, too❤️

My best tip for squeezing out water after hand washing is to roll it into a towel and step on it! no agitation and maximum water removal!
@norwegianknitter
@norwegianknitter Ай бұрын
@gingerglitter Thanks for the tip! I have a question about that, tho, won't the towel just get soaked? I did do the towel "trick" when drying this sweater, but after squeezes out water for minutes first, and the towel was still SOAKED?
@gingerglitter
@gingerglitter Ай бұрын
@@norwegianknitter yes so this is after I have repeatedly squeezed with my hands so there is no more water coming off with my strength. I then gather the knit, especially if it is something heavy I don't want to get warped, wrap it in a towel it won't dry on and then I step on it. I then take a different towel to have it dry on but it has significantly reduced my drying time especially now in the winter when i don't have light or warmth haha
@norwegianknitter
@norwegianknitter Ай бұрын
@gingerglitter Ahhh, yes, that makes sense! I did pretty much the same thing for this sweater, but we have heated floors in the bathroom, so I lay my knit directly on the floor. Heated floors are a life saver for drying knits in winter!
