Another great video it's certainly a labour of love for you and Mr Influenzo on these 308s. Earlier today I watched a Doug Demuro video which you may find of interest, on a rival to the Testrarossa, the Vector W8 a car I've seen a few times in magazines but never really tested. It's basically a mid engined gull winged rival to the countach and your Tesrarossa with a twin turbo v8 producing 600bhp with a purported 240 mph top speed. It's an interesting car and actually runs into x2 videos. Keep up the good work, I do hope you'll do a joint video between you and Mr Influenzo when the cars are finished. Stay safe etc. Ben

Just a tip with the welding, you need to cover your exposed skin as the UV can burn you, if you are just doing a few tacks here and there all good, but weld for any real length of time and you'll get "arc burn"...not pleasant.....nice work on this job though, its a hell of a project!!

To mount the bumper looking at the other 308 it should be a tube by the look of it not a stud. Would be more substantial. Would explain why your bumper initially sat low. If a tube of the correct dia to slide over bumper tube (with a slot so the bolt can clamp it) was put in the middle of the hole probably have not been far away.
@Ratarossa
@Ratarossa 4 жыл бұрын
this is correct and i'm looking for some to mount the front bumper in this way.
@johnhealy3671
@johnhealy3671 4 жыл бұрын
The slot will allow some movement of the bumper in the event someone rear ended you lightly, parking knock, that kind of thing, the slot will allow the bumper to move absorbing most of the impact rather than sending it directly to the frame, meaning you might only need to replace the bumper and not the frame.

The Vector was hailed as an American supercar to rival the countach on looks, but be faster than most "rivals" . Its was ahead of its time with some of its features and as doug says it has an Aeromotive feel and theme to it, a bit like a cross between a Saab and today's Teslas. The car itself only sold 20ish models but it was a real bedroom wall poster car in the vain of the Countach for practicality and the looks but not usability of the Redhead. Thanks again for the videos, I'm another interested watcher who has no mechanical sense or skill. I know what "stuff" does but dont have a clue how to fix stuff! You, Influenzo, SALVAGE FLIPPERS, four lane blacktop and the incredibly patient German fella Mr M539 to name just a few, have kept alot of the country entertained during and after lockdown, furlough plus my return to work. Be careful etc. Ben 🐎🦄🇬🇧🇮🇪

Hi Scott loving the videos If you get chance, keep on practicing with the welding. If you have spare or scrap material get it joined together!
