I really like the many holes on the collar. Looks more classy than the usual 4-5.

3:10 Ideally, you should have used polyester thread. Being a dog collar, it is going to be exposed to moisture/rain, and linen is prone to rot over time, when it gets wet.

You’re always a joy to watch. Your humbleness is refreshing. I love how it turned out and looks like it will last many, many years.

Love this! I am considering using beeswax for dog collars as it seems the most natural - do you think it would serve as adequate protection to help a natural leather patina nicely on a dog's neck?

That's a great gift. Well done. I've learned a lot from the JH Leather channel, she does a variety of dog harness and collar work. Check it out.

Thanks for the message Lars :) I use mainly Acrobond CR108.

Why didn't you skive the leather where the fittings are? That is a massive thickness where the D ring is, and will annoy the dog.

14:00 Why do you keep calling it "grease"? It is dubbin, which is a totally different substance to grease, with totally different applications! Would you put dubbin on your bike chain? Or a squeaky hinge?

7:40 Oval holes are for flat buckle pins, but you have used a buckle with a round one. This means the hole it is in will distort. Plus, the increments of the hole spacing are far too close/fine for a dog collar. For a neck circumference of 40cm, a difference in hole position of 4-5mm is just unnecessary. You didn't really think this project through, did you?!

wow .. what's your problem? I'd buy this from this lovely gentleman over a crotchety complainer
