Idea: start a sniper school. bring your own rifle, every two weeks, two day long class. three day class if you get Toby to do a one day pistol course. Get insurance.

Get with a Precision Rifle manufacturer (Christensen, Weatherby, Sig or one of those guys), and an optic company (Vortex, Sig, or Leopuld) outfit your school with nothing but those products to keep the learning curve simple. Then at the end of the session offer each student to buy the exact same setup they used through your school. And did I mention get an FFL to help cut out the middle man and reduce price for each student. The key part of all of this is keep prices reasonable. You will cut out and entire part of your viewing audience/people that would want to attend your class if you say go with companies like Nightforce for the optic and say Nosler for the Rifle company due to their initial cost being so much higher. Just an idea. Keep doing your thing. Love videos like this.

Rob you can get a product called the side-shot scope cam many other youtubers use it. It uses a mirror so you can still look through the scope and adapts to hold a go pro on the side of the scope. That we you can get better footage and can use your natural rest for shooting.

Send it with the sniper course! Small group of 4-6 people. Leave it as a option if someone wants to bring their own. If so, give a list of requirements for gear they'll need. If they can't bring one of their own. Give them the chance to rent on of yours. Maybe add a few more different types/calibers to the list of options to shoot with, like 5.56 all the way up to 475 cheytec and 50. bmg. Then this way, people will get the chance to figure out what they want to invest in. Because long range shooting is definitely not easy on the wallet.

You should have different options when making a reservation like when there filling out all the info online they can type or choose “use your own rifles or use our rifles, mix of both” or something and then if they pic use your own rifles then you can have them put what type of rifle what type of scope etc. whatever information makes it easier for you to know what your working with.

You might could do it like the Basic Riders Course in the Army. Start the beginners course with your rifles and then for the intermediate courses, the students could bring their personal rifles. Or you could do both courses with their personal rifles so they can get more of an introduction to their rifles and a more advanced course with the same rifle.

The last time I qualified, I took one shot at 800m using an M-16 with iron sights, and I hit it just guestimating elevation. I recently bought a Sig Whiskey 3 scope, but I've not used it yet.

I think a 2 day class quarterly. Have the option to bring your own, or use one of yours for a "fee". I think it is a valuable skill to know how to use your own rifle out to a far distance. I'd be interested depending on the price and availability. How would you choose participants? Random lottery type system? And word you were looking for... Chronograph. Beginner and intermediate classes would be my vote. I have a 270 I've drilled white tail at 400yrds with but would rather try a 6.5 or something that has better ballistics for reaching out that far with far less dope. Then once i/we figure out what we like come back with our own rifles for a second class. Only issue is if someone cheaps out on the build for the second class. Crappy rings will always fail.

IF you do the school, get a set of 5 exact same rifles that takes the variables out of when you are trying to teach. The fundamentals will be the same no matter what rifle you are using. You could always do a different class where the students bring their own after taking the initial class.

i would suggest getting the Labradar instead of a Cronograph. only thing stopping me from getting one is the cost. $559 is a chunk of change for a lot of us. i'm also surprised Rob shoots as well as he does with factory ammo. i haven't used any factory rounds in at least 20 years due to it's inherent inaccuracy and expense. love the Long Range shooting content, thanks for doing it. i'd love to see Rob shoot a fast 6mm like a 6x47 Lapua with a 7.5 twist with some 115 Bergers. i think he'd be blown away with the performance of it compared to a .308 etc.

I think it'd be a great idea, and you'd probably not have a lack of people willing to pay for it. Give the option to bring their own rifle or use one you have. 2 day course, start at 100yd (maybe a 5 lane range for that) and teach how to properly zero and learn the weapon/scope then move out from there. Teach how to compute dope properly and use the scope to determine range and drift, build a dope card, ect. End by having each person come up and attempt 1 km/yd shots (save that one for last) using what they have learned and allow critique from the group. Maybe have a couple of contests around best groups at 500 and 1k, a little friendly competition is nice.

Needs to be bring your own rifle for sure. Anyone who would want to seriously learn PRS would have a rifle. Learning the individuals rifle would be beneficial for them. Good idea.

I'm originally from Springer, OK. I have family there. I was just made aware of your project with the Gene Autry Ranch. You get your training range going, I want in, unless I can't afford it. I'm on a fixed income. I would think people need to use their own rifles, as those are what they will be shooting out in the field on their own.

You need to get a Magneto Speed Chronograph. They are the ones that strap onto the end of your barrel. It's pretty sweet. If you're going to have other people. I'd get one that set up and you shoot through.

I would love to learn long range. I have a 1903 Springfield 30-06. It was a sniper training rifle. Has built in scope mount but alas no scope or mount

i think that course would be a good idea and i think allowing a course with your rifles for those who don't own their own but want to learn and a course for those who do own their own rifles that want to learn how to shoot theirs

I would love to take a course. I think there should be a Beginner and intermediate course. To to keep your sanity I think it should be once every two months with maybe 5-10 shooters. Shooters bring their own rifles, but for the beginner class bring your rifles so they can see what options are out there. I’m a hand loader and am familiar with creating dope for a specific rifle/set-up, but would still love some tips and tricks from an actual Pro.

I would say do it once a month and do a 3 day course. I know you remember how long it took some people to zero in basic. And offer your rifles, but allow them to bring their own riffle and ammo if they so choose and adjust the price if they bring their own ammo.

IF you do a "shooters school" you may want to "vet" your students with a "video application" process to eliminate the riff raff from the serious shooters. I think, if possible, most shooters would want to learn to (get the dope) and dial in their own weapons. It's a lot to learn in two days but would provide a solid foundation to work from. Good luck!
