Everyone is going crazy about sleeveless dresses, but sleeves are so underrated in my opinion. They just make the dress so much more classy and whimsical, I love it!

Also, 99% of time, sleeveless dress means tucking your dress back up, making sure it sits right etc. And so often it makes the upper body look longer, but not in a proportional way.

Thank you! Honestly, I think the only reason I was able to do it is that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I tend to dive into projects without thinking and wing it as I go- troubleshooting my way through them and fixing things until I'm happy. Too much knowledge would've made this too intimidating of a task!

With the buttons, I know it's far passed time to change the dress (lol), but maybe this will be helpful for others who are thinking of doing this. You dont have to purchase new buttons, just color them with varnish or dye to achieve the color you want!!

Oh wow, that's so, so beautiful! Kudos to you for working with tulle and lace (both finicky fabrics) for the first time (!) on your WEDDING DRESS. That's some determination there to end up with such a beautiful gown (although I was getting secondhand stress when you were stressed in the video even though I knew everything worked out perfectly, ha, which shows I probably don't have the right personality to make a wedding dress because I was like, "will everything be alright? oh no!" when problems happened and you started the video saying it ended up perfect, ha). I think though your wedding will always be so much more special than it would have been had you not made the dress, because I feel like it's perfectly you in a way you can't get unless all that time and effort went into making it yourself and that will always be so, so special and sentimental (and also something to be incredibly proud of)! A backup beautiful dress. I am a seamstress and I would make my own dress too. I can't believe what they charge for wedding dresses in a bridal shop . Its outrageous. A dress a bride wears for only one day. The excess money is better put to use for the honeymoon and reception. I too prefer long sleeves. The sleeveless dresses don't have the penache' . Your dress is beautiful, and the thought of a Woodside wedding amid the guests and the singing birds is a great dream wedding. All the flowers in the woods, the little squirrels a deer or two is a fabulous backdrop. Congrats to you both.
