Re: guests that you feel you “have to” invite, my fiancé and I took the exact same approach! I have had family try once or twice tell me to invite someone or ask to bring an extra friend (who I personally don’t even like) and I stood my ground and said no. After you say no once or twice most reasonable people will back off. Remember everyone; it’s your day! I think even if your family would like to help pay for the wedding they have no right to tell you who to invite. Is someone tries to use money to leverage what they want from your wedding that’s nasty 🤮 and they can keep their cash.

So lovely listening to this and seeing the gorgeous photos on your blog. Oh the memories you bring back. I adored my wedding. Held in my local church and back to my parents house for a catered informal meal. I remember sitting on the floor of our sitting room with my friends all sitting around me on the satin of my wedding dress. My only regret was allowing my wonderful Dad to take the photos, his latest hobby at the time. He took a photo of me ready in my wedding dress with my flowers, during those special moments with just him and me when everyone else had left for the church. However he had forgotten to remove some sort of green filter on his camera by mistake and I look biliously ill....lol. In the end we were given beautiful candid photos that guests had taken during the day which we loved. But yes indeed, I counsel every bride that however informal she wants her wedding to be, please, please get a good photographer. :D

I did my own wedding makeup because I felt more confident in my own abilities vs trusting someone else to do it just how I like things. Same though, I did friends wedding makeup as well. It was way more stressful doing theirs!😂 but I was doing the bridesmaids and mother’s makeup as well so it was like 5-7 people as opposed to just mine. Lol! Tbh tho on my day I also did a couple other people’s makeup. 😂 that was kinda crazy haha!

If you’re comfortable, could you do a video on how you keep your relationship so strong after 10 years of being together?
@lunatonkens79333 жыл бұрын
Hi! I've been in a relationship for 6 years, and we've never had a single fight. I'd say the biggest things are accepting each other fully, and with that being completely yourself. Also communicating everything and really trying to understand what the other person feels and why. Keep an open mind. Also something that I think really helps is the fact that our relationship came after a friendship. We knew what we were getting ourselves into because we weren't trying to be perfectly attractive from the start if that makes sense. And of course part of it is just compatibility and luck. What also helps with not having fights is that only one of us (me, lol) has a strong will/opinions. He is very easy going so we don't really disagree on a lot of stuff. We also hate drama and avoiding conflict is in our nature. We also go on dates a lot to have fun (dinner, cinema, bike-rides, walks, bowling, picknicks, swimming, etc.) All that combined is basically how we have a succesful relationship! Hope that helps :)
@Loepsie3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha I could've written that! Minus the many dates but yeah, fully agree with what Luna said 😊

It’s so fun to hear of all the beautiful elements that went into your wedding. Ours didn’t go quite so smoothly as yours, due to a couple people dropping the ball, but other people just stepped in without us even asking and took care of those tasks, or we just did without and it all worked out anyway. My hair, which had worked out beautifully in my practice session, would not cooperate at all on the day of, but it wasn’t absolutely horrible. Anyway, it all came together in the end. We have lovely pictures of our wedding on the beach, and everyone seemed to enjoy it, which I think that means it was a success.

NEW SUBBER! I found this as a recommend (making your wedding dress!) As I'm desperately trying to learn how to sew and LOVE watching people make their own wedding dresses. I just wanna say I'm so thankful to hear about another couple who didn't rush (i actually was married before and we married on our 5yr anniversary but didn't work out 🤷♀️) but with my fiance now we have been together almost 9yrs and really wanna tie the knot soon but people are always asking "when when when!" And I'm like omg when we are ready! We aren't rushing! But most people shy away from couples getting married after being together so long bc they think you should like.... asap. Idk why. So this gave me inspiration and hope that we may finally do it and maybe on our 10th anniversary too! :D And of course CONGRATS on your wedding and an absolutely stunning wedding dress you had!

Oh, this brings back memories! The only thing I ate on my wedding day was tomato soup I drank through a straw because my new sister-in-law is as kind as she is practical and didn't want me to ruin my makeup. Court wedding delayed because of building renovations, court wedding, honeymoon and/before-the(!) wedding, and then the wedding almost two months later to cope with legal issues related to the court wedding having straddled the court renovation dates (which had lasted a few days). Same sister-in-law said it was "a lovely arranged marriage."

@@Loepsie Oh that's a smart idea. Ooh, I've been talking to my significant other about things, and we plan to do most things ourselves, or with close friends helping. @Loepsie3 жыл бұрын
Oh it's a big deal for sure, I just don't necessarily think it's a much "bigger deal" than other types of commitment in our specific situation. That's how I interpreted the question, in any case. After 10 years together, several of those living together, realistically there just won't be much of a difference between being married and how it was before. There's a difference, but in my personal experience it's minor. I don't think that negates the experience or the concept of marriage, though!
