It's so funny seeing those 2 songs back to back. The contrast is so immense, one a pure and happy tribute to a beloved best friend, the other an angry scalding evisceration of someone beneath contempt. Factor in the different outfits and you've got the good and evil alter ego bands that couldn't be farther apart from each other. It really highlights the versatility of the band as musicians and the diversity of their music. Thanks again for another great reaction! 🤘🤩🤘

Let me tell you something about their songs. You will come across one that just doesn't "do it" for you, but you hear it a second time and then a third time and it starts to fit. It touches your soul like the rest. Give it time. About Us, Memorable, Liberal, even Matador all took 3 or 4 times before I could truly appreciate them.

Dude, please for the love of all that is holy, drop Bestie from your list of songs to introduce Band-Maid to new people! That's probably the worst song in their entire catalogue to introduce them to people. That's one best left for somewhere later down the road. I mean, I get wanting to support their newer stuff, but that idea is very overrated when their newer song is one of their weaker songs. You only get one chance at a first impression, so that chance needs to be a song that puts their best face forward.

Bestie is best forgotten. It is a bad dream. Best to awaken from the nightmare that is Bestie and move on. Perhaps, if one is lucky, the taint of watching it can be removed from one’s mind and soul and the feeling of uncleanliness after having viewed it be scrubbed off with time.

Bestie is the only song BAND-MAID did that I did not care for. But there is a good reason for that. This was a collaborative effort with Mike Einziger from INCUBUS, and it bears his signature style. This song does not sound like BAND-MAID and that is the very reason I don’t care for it. I greatly prefer their unique style.

Interesting, Band Maid when they toured Europe prior to covid, they performed in the Netherlands in those days!!

Bestie, in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, was co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus. MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! And Miku’s English lyrics are heartfelt. Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey, Band-Maid, Wibo and Joel! FYI - The Maids just released a "Making of Bestie" on their websites where they explain the song and look of their awesome MV.

Presenting BESTIE *after* HATE? would be a great way to demonstrate the breadth of BAND-MAID’s musical output. And I would have explained that BESTIE is NOT a BAND-MAID song (though I love it), but a COLLABORATION with MIKE EINZIGER of INCUBUS, and thus sounds ljke a 90’s alt-Rock jam and drives the novel sartorial choices seen in the video.

Bestie is only the third song by the Ladies that is entirely in English. The other two songs are Don't Let Me Down, and The Dragon Cries.

Bestie is alright. I took me a few listens then Saiki's bridge in to the solo got stuck in my head. Band-Maid will play any tempo/genre/collab they please. refer back to the closing line of "Start Over".

The problem with Bestie (and other collab songs) is that it doesn't have the 'pure Band-Maid' sound to it. Other influences simply make them sound like something other than a Band-Maid song. They're not bad songs, and you can like the collab songs just fine, but you need to show people what Kanami writes when she totally lets loose on her own. Otherwise you're showing them 'Band-Maid but not really Band-Maid.'

And Kenny only thought it was ok the first time. Joel sometimes does pick some odd choices to give his guests their first listen of B-M. There's not a Maidiac i know that would've had "Bestie" anywhere on their lists as a must hear B-M song.🤷‍♂️

I'm not a fan of it either. To me- sounds like Band-Maid covering a Cluppo song. Might work well as an acoustic song though.

The new song collab with the warning didnt do much for me either from what i heard from the live clip that was available for a limited time...very basic rock with nothing exciting instrument wise apart from the vocals

Please stop adding a different band after the first one you introduced. Every time you do this, I am inclined to leave the channel and not give a thumbs up because the second band may not be a band that is liked. Please stick with one band at a time, it can be two songs from the same band but not two different bands.
