All these great artisans are so talented, hard working and humble but as you said don't get much appreciation. The likes of designers like Manish Malhotra and sarbasachi must help these weavers to live in a better working condition, clean environment to save these great traditions of our country, SAVE THE WEAVERS guys. We are very lucky to be blessed with these lovely guys, support them ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Bengali sarees are not worn during weddings in Bengal Very surprising
@Abcd-vd8eb3 ай бұрын
@@ajaypushkarna4811In Southern India 5 states ppl wore kanchipuram saree during marriage is it also surprising for you?
@csrakhidasgupta9 күн бұрын
@@ajaypushkarna4811 actually ages ago Bengal was epitome of wealth and prosperity and to showcase their wealth and prosperity in weddings benarasi sarees were used because benarasi sarees were considered most regal and royal sarees back then.. it had lots of colour patterns and silver gold threads were used. In Bengal during those days only kora or gorod were used Shada Saree with Laal Paar (red border) and those were part of our regular wear hence, our forefathers “to show off their wealth” gone way beyond and made benarasi saree a must wear for Bengali brides. Even today you’ll find atleast 2 Benarasi sarees (the real ones) in most of our bengali wardrobe 😊 thanks for asking this beautiful question. I hope I could reply properly with whatever little knowledge I had about it 😊

@@ajaypushkarna4811you will find perhaps one girl in one or ten lakh who didn't get married in red benarasi saree. The poorest of poor or the richest of all goes to red benarasi saree. I must admit they all look etheral in that attire.

You are doing a good job. Earning is of course important but you are doing a good deed by showing what you do. This art is part of ancient India, which cannot be allowed to die out. The main difference between Kanchipuram and Benarasi sarees is the twist of the silk yarn. Kanchipuram silk yarns are double twisted as opposed to the single twist of the Benaras silk yarns. This is the reason Kanchipuram sarees don't need the extra care accorded to the Benaras sarees and last longer.

Thanks for this blog. As a Bengali I am a Benarasi lover. Many of my friends think Benarasi are too gaudy and there is hype about kanjeevaram. But in my opinion Benarasi rules. However I wish you would have shown the powerloom next to handloom product for a direct comparison.
