Priyanka hats off for showing the different weavers of India. Please share the name of the shop with the sarees and mention if they can sell to international customers

All these great artisans are so talented, hard working and humble but as you said don't get much appreciation. The likes of designers like Manish Malhotra and sarbasachi must help these weavers to live in a better working condition, clean environment to save these great traditions of our country, SAVE THE WEAVERS guys. We are very lucky to be blessed with these lovely guys, support them ❤❤❤❤❤❤

You are doing a good job. Earning is of course important but you are doing a good deed by showing what you do. This art is part of ancient India, which cannot be allowed to die out. The main difference between Kanchipuram and Benarasi sarees is the twist of the silk yarn. Kanchipuram silk yarns are double twisted as opposed to the single twist of the Benaras silk yarns. This is the reason Kanchipuram sarees don't need the extra care accorded to the Benaras sarees and last longer.

Thanks for this blog. As a Bengali I am a Benarasi lover. Many of my friends think Benarasi are too gaudy and there is hype about kanjeevaram. But in my opinion Benarasi rules. However I wish you would have shown the powerloom next to handloom product for a direct comparison.

Hey desi girl traveller. I visited Benaras about 6 years back and in the same galiyas which you have shown, I could hear only the sound of power looms everywhere 😮. Hardly any handlooms left . We should all try to conserve our heritage handlooms by buying only authentic stuffs. 🙏
