It's crazy when you think that a lot of game developers have ideas they've been holding on to for years(decades even) before they get any opportunity to actually have them realized. Keiichiro Toyama(Silent Hill, Siren) said he wanted to make Gravity Rush way back in 1996 but was told to make something that would rival Resident Evil instead......

40:14 That was one part of the game I've always been wondering about. Nicole was already dead, so how that part actually play out?
@unholymalformationoffisto21313 жыл бұрын
Well, it could simply be the marker exerting influence on Issac. You see in-game that the marker can influence the electronics onboard, like when computer screens freak out during the Nicole encounter after the scientists death. It could simply be the marker making Issac perceive that Nicole is there, doors are locked off, and passages blocked. It's shown throughout many of the games just how much it can twist a person's psyche, it'd be easy to replicate Nicole's appearance and voice for Isaac's manipulation. That segment is fairly easy to rationalize, as the marker is shown to have knowledge of a person's thoughts/memories.
@nicklander33013 жыл бұрын
There was a theory that technically its someone else there and the Marker made it seem to Isaac that it was Nicole

7:52 , and so many years later there's a remake and some criticize it for introducing more cutscenes. Yet, even with this said, the original game has a few cutscenes where the player doesn'th have control. But it's not so bad because they're immersed in the scene itself.

One thing the designers never thought about during development though was replayability. Once you've learned all the Necromorph spawn locations the game pretty much never scares you again... they really should have incorporated a bit of random chance to each encounter for where it could happen- maybe instead of coming up from the ground they take a quiet approach and come up behind you, or maybe some don't even appear?

The little hallway build they showed looks pretty sick, but my main concern is going to be the sound design. Of all things, they should probably just reuse the sound design, or just build upon it. Visceral created some excellent sound clips for the game that just give it an unmistakable character that a remake would still benefit from. The atmosphere it gave is still unmatched, to the degree that they reused quite a bit of it in the second game.

Oh how i wish i was a millionaire so i could privately fund the Original Dead Space Crew and tell EA to Buzz off and let them make Dead Space 4 EXACTLY how they want to make it. With only a few Limitations: 1: No Microtransactions 2: to the best of their extent, try to keep it in the Originals Image (Mood and Tone. I.E; Daunting, Intimidating, oppressing, NOT a Arcade Shooter like DS3 was) and 3: DO IT RIGHT. No Mistakes, No Corporate folk saying "Oh that wont work" Make it to their fullest Vision, Let the Masterminds of Dead Space let the Insanity flow forth unto the Anvil of Horror and be forged into a Modern Masterpiece! Also, Secret (not really) 4th point: NO FREAKIN "True Ending" Hidden behind a damn DLC. If there is DLC, it should EXPAND on the story and setting as OPTIONAL content. No game should have its CORE CONTENT be a PAID DLC. In Short: If i could fund these guys to Reforge the Dead Space IP into a TRUE modern staple. just imagine what it could look like on Modern Hardware. PC, XB1, and PS4 (or What ever systems are out there when it released) My most important thing would be: yes, There are deadlines. But We wont release the game if its not Complete. I wouldn't care how many times it was delayed, so long as when it was released, it was their so called "Magnum Opus".

Writing the story last of all things is a horrible idea. That's the usual for game developers? No wonder we get so many games that contradict themselves. If you write the story last it could cause you to have to make changes in everything to follow the story. Most of the time developers don't take the time fix those contradictions and we end up with the games we do. When you write you don't necessarily have everything planned out. When I write it's like an action scene playing in my head and I transfer it to paper as I'm watching it. Kinda like describing a movie in real time. You don't know everything that happens in a movie before you watch it. Kudos to the Dead Space developers for understanding this concept and bringing an amazingly balanced and innovative experience.
