I’m super stoked for this series! It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch & follow along the journey! The only thing I’ll say about any of these lights, is they the Nicron N7 pocket clip can be moved to another position. Ok I’ll be quiet now; lol. My EDC light journey evolved from simple, single mode lights, to fancy schmancy stuff with all the lumens and strobes and what not, and now I’m back in a place where I appreciate simplicity & practicality more than anything. A couple hundred lumens & a simple user interface with only a few modes is all I practically need for EDC. I think the i3T at $20 is a great example of that. Another thing I’ve sort of flip flopped on are Li-Ion batteries vs. your commonly available batteries. While I appreciate the added output (like 600 lumens on the Lumintop Tool using a 14500 Li-Ion), I’m using a lot more standard AA & AAA’s now (usually the rechargeable variety). Output isn’t as important to me as runtime. This comment was way too long, and for that I apologize. Ok I changed my mind, I do not apologize - I’m a flashlight nerd and I don’t care who knows it! 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

For me what matters most is the comfort of carry/size. For EDC very cool Sean hooked you up he is awesome guy like you !!! ✌️

Well damn. I asked Sean what light he'd recommend from what I was looking for and he recommended the Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 and I was fortunate to get one about a month ago and am loving it. I'm not sure what matters most in a light for me. Was interesting to hear how you plan to go about this.

I kinda like the idea of a bracket style competition, but I’m sure there are many other ways to do it that I’m just not thinkin of. The most important attribute of a good EDC light to me is the carry. Just like with a knife, the best light is the one you have with you. If it’s too big and cumbersome that you don’t like carrying it, then chances are that you won’t, unless you know beforehand that you’re gonna need it. So carry is #1 to me, followed closely by value. Anyways, that’s just my two cents. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Thanks and stay safe. 👍

After knives...I have TOO MANY flashlights! :-) I just got that Nitecore TUP from Drop....it has digital readout...pretty cool. I have like 6 O lites, Fenix, Led Lenser, a super expensive CKF Russian LIte, and more. They are all great and horrible for different reasons! LOL!.... I think that the only one I have that you have is that little O lite....but I am definitely onboard for your findings regarding this insanity!!!! LOL!

I think a bracket makes a lot of sense. I think some lights that you should consider that I noticed are missing are the lumintop blf collab series like the fw1a fw3a and new fw4a. The number is the number of emiitters and the letter at the end is the material they are made of, a being aluminum. They all should come in titanium, copper, and stainless varieties although the newer ones might be more sparse. Also, check out the emisar d4v2 and the convoy s2+.

Size, clip, type of button and button placement, firmware and easy lockout functions, color, brightness, battery life, battery in general, heat output etc. Too many things to take into consideration. I use two main edc flashlights, lumintop prince copper and first Gen olight s1 baton copper. And a olight Keychain torch occasionally.
