Remember riding my bicycle to the VHS shop every Friday. Rented mostly kids' movies, but it became my happy place when I grew older, too. There was just something about holding a tape in your hands with the excitement that comes with a whole new adventure that got me so hyped up. Online shows have never lived up to that physical embodiment of excitement.
@CaptinNabil73 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I too have been riding myself to the library, not only being the only thing close to a video rental store, but also through the influence of both this movie and The Neverending Story, that shows how amazing a library can be. Whether for reading or such. There's a kind of magic found in a library that can't be found in online stuff like Netflix or such.

The voice cast was made of pure talent. And the animators obviously put their heart and soul into the drawings. But every project needs to start with a solid story inside a clever script. Without that foundation, it's all just empty noise.

@@GreenFiend35yes i agree 😃 On reflection this type of story is a classic, & pops up throughout history, i think we are due another! Been a while. Oldest i can think of is neverending story & labyrinth in the 80s, then this in 90s, & another 2 both in 2008 inkheart & bedtime stories. Don't recall any 2010-2024. They did a wonderful job with that cgi, and I am very glad they did not eschew it in disfavor and loathing like so many today. They wanted to integrate animation to live action and did so wonderfully and beautifully. I always wondered how they even managed to capture that effect back in the old days. Christopher Loyd does a great job as the Pagemaster and Mr. Dewey. I am sad this movie did not receive the praise it deserved back in the day, partly due to child actor prejudice, seemingly bad marketing, and critics who thought it was a con job deceiving kids to enjoy the Art of Story through the medium of books. I dare say, that like the transition from live action, through cgi, to live animation, they missed the Magic of Imagination and Beauty of another World in which we Escape...That which is always called Story...

This movie is what inspired my crazy jackass bravery when I saw it as a kid. Now 40 years old and I feel dried out and completely drained. What good memories from my childhood when I had the energy. I'm very happy that I love literature. I just wish that there were more libraries like this one I even miss the library I used to go to back in Wake Tech. I find any good bit of literature to read and even as of this moment I'm trying to write a book for DC Comics and its purpose is to show the world that a simple human being has superpowers such as faith and love and Hope. A basic Superman who is Hope can give him the ability to fly. It is my great privilege to present despite still in writing it is my great privilege to present to everybody who is a fan of DC Comics I give to you the kamandi paradox as dedication to a Jack Kirby Classic and how much I would love to dedicate this not only to Christopher Reeve and Kevin Conroy but I would love to dedicate to a very special Elder in my family who is no longer in my family because she passed away I wish with the most sincere honesty to dedicate this to my grandmother. As soon as I find a publishing agency that is connected to DC Comics and it captures audiences around the United States I would love you very much to present a copy of my book to my fellow KZbin channelers until then I shall be writing. God bless you all.
