Hi Emma, thanks for supporting. There is no metal material used for this tank... The wire mesh is stainless steel and the rest is all silicon, stone , sand and foam board

I'm Using shiroi sand, more clean and less problem to my tank because it been processed. You can use collected sand as well but have to wash it and clean it well before use. If self collect is free 😜 .

That looks like a type of pillow moss. They're easy to collect in wet places, like the roots of trees and streambeds.

The compartments are pretty much a foundation to make the height of the "cliff" instead of using extra natural resources like rocks, which will make the set up extra heavy. Also the compartment is also used to make that waterfall.

I'm using super glue + cotton ball to fix the shape faster and follow by using epoxy putty to make it harder and stronger strength between stones ^^

often excavation companies will blast rock before erecting a building. If you ask to remove some of the blast stone they may let you have whatever you can take as they have to haul it away anyways. Sometimes they also have a yard where they store the stone to sell as fill. Blast rock is great practice and it's basically free! (minus the cost of silicon)

Nice job but I have a few questions 1) do you need to mist it daily for the moss to thrive? 2) those are a lot of fishes in a very small volume of water.
