With the capacity to form any tissue in the human body, induced pluripotent stem cells, or iPSCs, are critical to the work of the UC San Diego Stem Cell program in studying disease and potential cures - but how are they made? This short primer outlines the basic steps to how these special cells are derived. [Show ID: 34455]

That's amazing. Would love to see technology advance like this. But what's really amazing about it is how innocent people don't get hurt. When I get older I wouldn't mind volunteering to participate in a trial for this stuff.

Genetic coding is the worst damned heavy criptography in the Universe.I doubt any code breaker can rescue it from IPS cells.

Let's make Thyroid cells! I was told my immune sys has been attacking my thyroid, presumably shrinking it. Guinea Pig, anyone? 🥓
@theicebooky
@theicebooky 2 жыл бұрын
That is autoimmune disease which means that we have to somehow stop your immune system from recognizing one (or several) of your Thyroid cell receptor. First we probably need to find out the receptor culprit by taking a sample of your thyroid cell and your white blood cell and have them interact. Once we know what the culprit is (b cells, t cells or NK for example), we can then do a cell therapy or some how stops the pathway. I am sure we will be able to cure autoimmune disease in no time :)
