I know that feeling. In October I lost a close online friend to Covid. If it weren't for her husband contacting one of the girls in our group of friends, we would've never even known she had passed away.

I spent 7 years in undergrad and finally graduated with a bachelors degree at 26. I changed my major 4 times and never really figured out what I wanted to do. Friends and family would joke that I was a professional student. I would help my younger cousins through bc I have taken so many classes in different degree plans. I graduated..with a bachelors degree..with 154 hrs in credits. Thats enough for a masters degree but bc I changed my major.. and college, so many times, my credits would never transfer. I took a computer class THREE different times at THREE different university's. So you're doing great baby girl! 😂

I literally made a gingerbread village for my grandma's aid last winter, all out of cardboard and hot glue. I painted it all with acrylics, and she couldn't even tell it wasn't real at first.

I am 26, and in my seventh year of college. I am a huge fan of doing what you want and there were times I just didn't want to go to school. If I had made a decision on my major when I was 19...oh lawd it wouldn't have worked. What really shucks my corn is when people think that making life decisions at 18 is a normal thing. Congrats on your education babes, no matter the time line.

A helpful hint, next time when putting the gingerbread house sides together, melt sugar in a sauce pan, you have to stir pretty consistently so it wont burn, be care to not burn yourself either lol. Then dip the sides of the gingerbread into the melted sugar and put the edges together (hold for a moment). It's litterally like sugar concrete and holds up way better than using the royal icing for holding the pieces together! Then use the royal icing for putting the candy, etc on the house.

Melt about 1 cup of white sugar (or more if it's a big house), stir so it wont burn, then just dip the edges and place them together. The sugar should harden fairly quickly. I learned this trick after having an almost completed gingerbread house fall apart a few years ago lol, save yourself the headache and prepare for success!

I have been watching these every day/night. I am so thankful for you “being here” for me to laugh and forget. Obviously covid happened, and within the next few years I lost my first dog I ever had, Dad-in-law, my dad…. then I got sick in March, lost 60lbs, still hoping to find out what’s wrong with me…… then a few days ago I found out my aunt is suffering from same thing my dad was and constantly in and out of hospitals……then today I found out my uncle has hospice and it won’t be long.
